Clinical Journals

Clinical journals or can also be classified as clinical research informatics are

used for documenting latest discoveries in clinical research in the form of research
articles, reviews, commentaries, editorials, and short communications. It also involves in
the discovery and management of new knowledge related to clinical trials and
informatics related to secondary research use of clinical trial.

Examples:

1. NCI’s Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG)

2. Clinical Data Interchange Standard Consortium (CDISC)
3. Health Level 7 (HL7)
4. Biomedical Research Integrated Domain Group (BRIDG)

Clinical trials costs hundreds of million dollars, that much is a given. Various
resources and manpower are exhausted with countless trial and errors and uncertain
results. Even though with the presented factors, thousands of clinical researches are
still made and infinite amount of information are made available due to such clinical
trials. Through these clinical journals provided, optimization can be made to further
improve an existing clinical trial and also replace any existing ideas with a much more
convenient idea.

Clinical Research Informatics provides knowledge from various sources that are
integrated to actual clinical practice that presents higher success rate for procedures,
and serves as foundation for the quality patient-care needed to be done.
