PAPER WAREHOUSE

Paper Warehouse is a place for supplying and as storage for finished paper products
that are ready to be delivered to customers. Currently, paper warehouse is under auspices of
RAK (Riau Andalan Kertas) Department, yet should give report to SCM (Supply Chain
Management). In this area, required safety tools are safety shoes and mask.
Paper warehouse have three types of received finished papers, they are:
1. Cut size
2. Folio sheet
3. Customer roll, large and small
Each types of finished paper product will be treated with different packaging before loaded to
container, as follows:
1. Palletizing packaging, this package is used to cut size and folio sheet. The product
packaged well and loaded to container with pallet.
2. Slip sheet, means the pallet of paper product will be removed when products are
loaded into the container using forklift.
3. Loose fill, means the paper products are unwrapped and loaded to container without
pallet.
Overall, process flow in paper warehouse can be seen in Figure 1.

RECEIVING STACKING STUFFING

RECEIVING

All finished goods from finishing area will be delivered to Paper Warehouse by using
conveyor. There are three types of used conveyor, they are:
 AWA conveyor, for delivering jumbo roll paper (large size)
 Palletize conveyor, for delivering cut size and palletize packaging products
 CHANG SA, for delivering jumbo roll (small size)

If the product will be delivered to cutomer soon without stacked before, the products
called as Hot Loading but if the products should be stacked first, called as Not Hot
Loading. Finished goods are loaded in warehouse should pass scanning process, to record
each product in PMIS (Production Management Information System).This system is used
to indicate position of product in paper warehouse. In this area, each product should be
checked first, such as: top board, shipping label, pallets, and ID label, if the products are
reject such as hole shrinking, damaged by warehouse, and pallete damage, products will
be returned to converting area.
If the paper products are Not Hot Loading, it will be delivered to Stacking Area, while
the products are Hot Loading, will be delivered to Loading Bay before loaded to
Container.

STACKING
Stacking area is a storage for paper products specifically for not hot loading ones. The
products will be delivered by using forklift (for cut size and folio sheet) and clamp truck
(for customer roll). Paper warehouse has capacity around 8000 metric tons of cut size and
folio sheet and 5000 metric tons of customer roll. Each product will be stored with a place
called Bin (1 Bin for the same order).
If the products in stacking area already fulfilled the requirement (date of delivering to
customer), the products will be delivered to Loading Bay and ready to stuffing.

STUFFING

Stuffing is a process to load the paper products called cargo into the container.
Container used in this stuffing process are dry container which has three types, they are
20 ft container, 20 ft standard, and 40 ft high cube. The difference is in the size of
containers. If containers are provided by Mill (from Container Yard), this is called with
CFR and if the containers are provided by customers, it called FOB. In this place, cargo
will pass the scanning process again for making delivery note.
After stuffing process are done and all cargo are loaded into the container, cargo will
be delivered to Buatan port with bring some requirement letters such as SPBB and Surat
Perintah Kerja. From Buatan port, cargo will be delivered to two destinations, they are:

Domestic and International port (Port Klang, Malaysia and PSA, Singapore) using
Mother Vessels.
In case of cargo could not be delivered sooner to Buatan Port, cargo will be stacked
first in Open Yard, because of waiting for the appropriate Connecting Date (Space
Mother Vessel order date).

EQUIPMENT USED

1. Reach Stacker, for lifting up and replace the container. It is shown in Figure 2.

3. Fork Lift, has the same function with claim truck, but this equipment for carrying the
palletize packaged products. It is shown in Figure 4.

4. Green Shrinking, for bind the palletes. It is shown in Figure 5.

5. Corrugated, for covering container floor when customer roll are loading into the
container.
