ER & TS-Pkg 1-Terml.-MEP-001 As per ER & TS " All cast iron pipes and fittings shall be jointed with best
Clause 4.4.3.4 & 4.6 quality soft pig lead free from all impurities conforming to IS 27" but due
to safety hazard and toxic nature of Lead, therefore, we propose drip seal
for jointing of CI pipes & fittings (a detailed comparsion of Drip seal and
Lead Joint showing advantages of drip seal over lead is attached
herewith).
It is also noted that drip seal joint has satisfactory performance compare
to Lead joint. (refer attached datasheet of drip seal)

Further, since, Lead is not suitable for jointing of HDPE/UPVC pipes, Drip
seal is most preferable sealant.
