doing life together.

The goal for this class is to help you move from being a spectator to a contributor.

Ephesians 2:19 (LB) ...You are members of God's very own family, and you belong
in God's household with every other Christian."

Two Important Truths:

The church is a _____________ .

A Christ-follower is not just a believer but a ______________.

Romans 12:5 (NIV) In Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member
belongs to all the others.

Partnering With The Right Church Should Do 4 Things In Your Life.

1. Stay spiritually ____________________.

Hebrews 10:25 (GNT) Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are
doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of
the Lord is coming nearer.

2. Develop spiritual ____________________.

Hebrews 6:1 (LB) Let us go on ... and become mature in our understanding, as strong
Christians ought to be.

Acts 2:41, 42, 46 (LB) (They) were baptized … and joined the other believers in regular
attendance at the apostles’ teaching sessions … They worshiped together regularly at the
Temple … and met in small groups in the homes for communion …

Baptism is a public declaration of a brand-new association.

Matthew 10:32-33 (NLT) "If anyone acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will openly
acknowledge that person before my Father in heaven. But if anyone denies me here on
earth, I will deny that person before my Father in heaven.”
Baptism Pictures Two Things:

1. What Jesus did for me.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NLT) “Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He
was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures
said.”

2. What has happened to me.

Romans 6:3-4 (NLT) “When we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him
in his death. For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was
raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new
lives.”

Greek word “baptizo” means to submerge, to immerse, or to bury.

Jesus modeled baptism by immersion

Mark 1:9-11 (NLT) “One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and he was baptized
by John in the Jordan River. And when Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the
heavens split open and the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on him. And a voice came
from heaven saying, "You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with you."

Matthew 28:19 (MsgB) “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way
of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”

Why is baptism so important? Obedience to Christ Commandment.

When is the best time to be obedient? Now!

John 14:15 (NLT) Jesus…"If you love me, obey my commandments.”

3. Discover my ____________________.

1 Peter 4:10 (LB) “God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use
them to help each other.”
1 Corinthians 12:5, 27 (LB) “There are different kinds of service ...
together you form the Body of Christ and each one of you is a necessary
part of it.”

4. Fulfill my ______________________.

Acts 20:24 (NLT) “But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the
work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good
News about God's wonderful kindness and love.”

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is

making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead,
“Come back to God!”
Our Affiliation:
The “face” of our church is non-denominational in order to eliminate barriers or stereo-
types to those we desire to reach with the hope-filled message of Jesus Christ. We are
not under the control or dictation of any denomination or religious institution. We are
autonomous and exist under the authority of God's leadership and direction taught in
the Bible.

Our Leadership Structure:

1 Corinthians 14:33 & 40 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace...But be sure
that everything is done properly and in order.

• “We are guided by the leadership, direction & vision God has given to our lead pas-
tors.”

• “We are protected by our our Board of Trustees who give oversight, direction and
support to the legal and financial matters of our church.”

• “We are strengthened by our Overseer’s/Advisors who are made up of other pastors
who share wisdom, direction, and encouragement to our pastors and to us as a
church.”

Missions Impact:
Each year, we strategically invest 10% of our income to financially support missions
outreach through our ministry partners. In fulfillment of the Great Commission and
Great Commandment outlined in Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 22:37- 40, Mark 16:15
and Acts 1:8 it is our vision and passion to reach our city, our state, our nation, and our
world with the hope-filled message of Jesus Christ. Since the inception of our church,
our missions giving has literally impacted millions of people through our ministry part-
ners.
