Groen Freight Asia (GFA) is ¢ member-driven non-profit onganisation whose key objectives are to help lower fuel consumption across Asia Pacific sourced road freight movements, reduce emissions ftom these movements, and lower shipping costs across the entire supply chain. Our ‘main focus for 2014 is to develop a Green Freight Label certification snd renewal process, GEA does not yet have # data collection and verification process in place for the GFA Label programme, nor en IT application to collect, aggregate and more importantly analyze and visualize dala that are provided by companies across the Asia Pacific region. We are looking for an entreprencutial team to help us develop a solution that meets these needs. We will be holding an event on Wednesday 7 May 201¢ to review proposals from potential pariners and discuss possibilities for collaboration. [hope you will be able to join us. Please note that we do not yet have a formal requirements document. Roughly speaking, the seope of work we want to discuss at this stage is as follows: 1. Designing a dats collection and taanagement process + Complications: * nurnber of countries in the region (Language, readiness) * different parties deliver different data sets (shippers, freight sarriezs, logistics serviee providers) + sensitivity of data 2. Designing an IT application to: + collect data from shippers, freight carriers, and logistics service providers + validate collected data (e.g, data type checks, presence check, range cheek, limit check, etc.) culate the Green Leaf status of cach data provider * visualize the Green Leaf distribution, evohitioa, etc. (@.g,, on a World map) + allow user to build “what-if” scenarios like “litres of diesel fuel saved i£x% more companies are Green Leaf certified,” ete, + provide other reporting and forecasting features We would also weleame ideas on improving our existing web site ond engeging our stakeholders through other channels such as social media, ‘This case wes writen by Professor Jason Woodard ard Christopher Dula atthe Slagepcre Managemen Universdy. Unfortunately 1 will not be able to meet personally with all of the teams at this event, However, each presentation will be attended by a panel of GRA board members and industry experts who will assist in selecting a subset of proposals for farther considerstion, While ali teams will be invited to participate in the aftemoon session, there will be two different formats: one will be similar to the morning presentation, while the other will be more ‘formal. Note that your panel members fot the aftemoon session may differ from the moraing session, so you should provide a brief summery of your solution before discussing the proposed business arrangements, Tunderstand that we ere asking for a lot in @ short period of time. That said, we encourage you to flesh out your ideas in as much detail as possible given the limited presentation time that will be allotied. Please pay particular sttention to explaining both what you propose to do and how you propose to do it, as well as why you believe GFA shonld choose you as our lead partner and implement your solution, Please aote that we have an aggressive timeframe for execution. A small number of teams will be invited vo present to our full board of directors on Thursday 8 May.
