this reversible afghan can go anywhere,
fitting any style of home decorations.

Materials
• Chunky bulky weight 75 per-
cent acrylic/25 percent wool
yarn (143 yds/100g per ball):
8(11) balls Aran
• Size 9 (5.5mm) needles
• Size 10 (6mm) needles or size
needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
Gauge
14 sts = 4 inches/10cm in St st
with larger needles
To save time, take time to check
gauge.
Afghan
With smaller needles, cast on 134(162)
sts. Knit 6 rows. Change to larger nee-
dles and beg pat.
Row 1: K4, *k14, p14, rep from * to last
18 sts, k14, k4.
Row 2: K4, *p14, k14, rep from * to last
18 sts, p14, k4.
Rows 3–6: [Rep Rows 1 and 2] twice.
Row 7: K4, *k4, p6, k4, p4, k6, p4, rep
from * to last 18 sts, k4, p6, k4, k4.
Row 8: K4, *p4, k6, p4, k4, p6, k4, rep
from * to last 18 sts, p4, k6, p4, k4.
Rows 9–14: [Rep Rows 7 and 8] 3 times.
Rows 15–20: [Rep Rows 1 and 2] 3
times.
Row 21: K4, *p14, k14, rep from * to
last 18 sts, p14, k4.
Row 22: K4, *k14, p14, rep from * to
last 18 sts, k14, k4.
Rows 23–26: [Rep Rows 21 and 22]
twice.
Row 27: K4, *p4, k6, p4, k4, p6, k4, rep
from * to last 18 sts, p4, k6, p4, k4.
Row 28: K4, *k4, p6, k4, p4, k6, p4, rep
from * to last 18 sts, k4, p6, k4, k4.
Rows 29–34: [Rep Rows 27 and 28] 3
times.
Row 35–40: [Rep Rows 21 and 22] 3
times.
Rep Rows 1–40 for pat.
Rep Rows 1–40 until piece measures
approximately 48(58) inches, ending
with Row 19 or 39.
Knit 6 rows. Bind off all sts. ◆
