Q13 Please comment on the teacher candidate's overall performance in the area of professional knowledge.

JM has a great understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures. He does struggle with bringing down his understanding to
meet the level of his students. This will come in time and practice. He has shown great improvement in this area over the course of his
placement but is something he still needs to focus on.

Q15 Please comment on the teacher candidate's overall effectiveness of instructional planning.

JM does a wonderful job aligning learning plans with the curriculum's objectives. He does need to work on timing throughout his
lessons. He should try planning with time increments built in and adjusting where needed. Incorporating an outline of his learning plan
may help with ensuring he meets necessary targets and time lines - this is something we discussed and began practicing. He does a
great job differentiating instruction where needed and adjusts when needed to meet the needs of his students.

Q17 Please comment on the teacher candidate's overall effectiveness of instructional delivery.

JM uses instructional technology effectively in the classroom and for instruction. He has developed a variety of instructional resources
to use and implement throughout his lessons and instruction. JM does need to work on reaching his students to help keep them
actively engaged. This is hard to do in the short amount of time that he was with them. Getting to know your students, their likes and
dislikes, in conjunction with implementing brain breaks/activities will help with keeping students engaged and actively learning
throughout the lesson.

Q21 Please comment on the teacher candidate's overall effectiveness in creating an environment conducive to
learning.

JM needs to figure out what classroom procedures and expectations work for him. He should practice establishing these right away
and continuously refer to them for the first couple of weeks. Consistency is key and will help him greatly in the future. He did a very
nice job realizing which students needed to have a close eye on them, which ones needed to have extra attention, and which ones
would be good to help neutralize situations and support others. He used this to create seating charts and for grouping assignments.

JM was very open to receiving constructive criticism and adapting to change and new situations. He maintained a positive attitude
throughout. He asked questions and for clarification repeatedly. There was no doubt he was open and ready to learn. JM should put
more emphasis on planning procedures. These are skills that are time consuming and tedious right now but will help to keep him on
pace, work on is timing and transitions, and help him to overall become a well rounded professional.

Much of what we do is computer based. This was an experience for JM to get to see how data collection is much easier now when
programs do it for you. We viewed data regularly and used this to be able to assess prior knowledge as well as summative.
