The school have been struggling about the increasing amount of garbage and waste. Garbage
crisis is one of the school’s biggest problems in many different reasons. It causes diseases and infections,
attracts mosquitoes and many other insects, causes floods, and brings foul smell. Not to mention the
wrong attitude of many toward garbage have worsen the situation. Yet, solution plans are not sealed
among students.

In a survey, 7 out of 10 students of Benigno S. Aquino National High School suggested a seminar
for all the students. The seminar would tackle the problems of the school regarding garbage crisis and
would teach students of the proper waste disposal methods. One of them stated, “If cleanliness will
start among students issues in garbage will reduce.” Another said, “Discipline should be implemented
among student, a discipline on how to address their own wastes.”

In another survey, majority of the students brought out the need for more projects that will help
reduce garbage in the school. One of them suggested, “Adding more and bigger trash bins would help.”
Another mentioned, “Discourage the use plastic bags, cups, spoon, fork, and straw. Instead, use paper-
made containers or bags.”

There are plenty of ways to keep the school clean more than just seeing the janitors of the
school do their job. For starter, the best way to resolve the waste problem is not to create it in the first
place and being responsible to your own waste is another factor. Then, rules should follow after
discipline. If all will comply with the proper waste disposal there will be no mountain of garbage in the
school’s backyard. More than just efforts, unity and discipline can do more or else can prevent more.
