Dear Sir,

This has reference to BHEL letter no. QAX:1140:1267 dated 27.8.2003

regarding subject proposal.

As per NTPC Simhadri site feedback MIs. SBEM have modified the
switches by providing additional contact retention circuit in their capacitance
type level swiches in unit # 2 and the performance of the switches has been
found to be satisfactory after above modification. The similar modification
shall be carried out for swiches used in unit # 1 also

In view of above we agree to your proposal of using MIs. SBEM,

Pune make capacitance type level switch for NTPC on going projects.
However MIs. BHEL shall ensure that capacitance type level switches with
above modification (provision of additional contfact retention circuit) are
supplied.

Series 114 is a versatile Capacitance Type Single Point

SBEM Pvt. Ltd. offers a wide range of level probes for

use with capacitance type level switches of series 112 &
114. The most popular range of probes for use with
liquids which cover a majority of applications are

Notes :

3. High temperature stand off is recommended for process temperature above 60 deg C.
4. For food industries PVDF coated electrodes are recommended.
5. For corrosive duties, only integral flanged process connections are recommended as threaded process
connections are prone to deterioration in corrosive atmosphere.
6. Hysterisis is measured for i) Conductive liquid - Water; ii) Non conductive liquid - Kerosene. It varies as per medium.
7. For horizontal mounted electrodes 15 deg. downward angle of repose is recommended.
