Car rental costs in Florida are quite cheap and you can save money by
booking and paying before you leave home. Fly-drive deals can be 50 percent cheaper,
but be careful of “free” car rental. Extras like state tax and insurance are not included
in these offers.
If you rent when you arrive, it is usually cheaper to rent a vehicle at the
airport than in town. All you need to rent a car is your driver’s licence, passport and a
credit card. The minimum age for car rental is twenty-one, but drivers under twenty-
five sometimes pay extra.
Make sure your car rental includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – also
known as Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) – or you will be responsible for any damage to
the car. Rental agreements include third party insurance, but it’s best to buy additional
or supplementary Liability Insurance.
Some companies add a premium if you want to leave the car in another city
and all charge a lot for gas. Make sure you leave the car with the same amount of gas.

I like the ............................................. . I like being in the front line, the first point of contact. I think I’m
quite good at dealing with ..................................................................... . I know how to smile, although sometimes
on a .......................................................... day, it’s hard. I guess the tasks I do are a bit routine if I’m honest – I
check in arrivals, hand out ................................................ keys, process enquiries and reservations, that kind of
thing. I work ............................................................, which can be a drag. I usually start at six in the morning,
which is OK because I get off nice and early, but then occasionally I do the late turn and I
don’t ....................................................... till after ................................................... – this week I’m doing the late
shift.
There’s always something different going on. For example, we had a group from ...............................................
arrive yesterday and they were so ................................................... and nice and pleased to be here. They’re
visiting the Snoopy .......................................................... in Santa Rosa today and were so excited about it. I’m
waiting for them to come back, so I can see how they all got on.
