 SNOWPRO CORE CERTIFICATION OVERVIEW
The SnowPro Core Certification demonstrates an individual's knowledge to apply specific core
expertise implementing and migrating to Snowflake. A SnowPro Core Certified individual has a
thorough understanding of Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse and has the knowledge necessary to
design, develop and manage secure, scalable Snowflake solutions to drive business objectives.

The SnowPro Core Certification exam assesses an individual’s knowledge of:

• Where Snowflake fits into a data/analytics solution
• Snowflake architectural principles and best practices
• Core aspects of Snowflake solutions including Data Loading/Unloading, Performance,
Scaling, Security, Data Types, Connectors, Continuous Data Protection, Extensibility,
and Account Management

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION EXAM

This exam’s objective is to measure an individual’s knowledge and ability to use Snowflake based data
warehouse solution. To earn this certification, you must pass the SnowPro Core Certification exam. The
exam format consists of multiple select, multiple choice, True/False, fill-in the blank and terminology
matching questions. The exam has no mandatory prerequisites and is administered by our third-party
proctor.

• Length: 2 hours
• Registration fee: $175 USD
• Language: Currently only available in English

REGISTERING FOR SNOWPRO CORE CERTIFICATION

Where do I register for the Exam?

The exam is accessible via Snowflake’s Certification Management system, Webassessor
(https://webassessor.com/snowflake). You will need to navigate here and create an account. Once the
account has been created. You’ll be able to see the SnowPro exam catalog.

How much does the exam cost?

The exam costs $175 per each attempt.

Are there any discounts available for Partners for the SnowPro Core Certification exam?
We’re working on the ability for Partners to purchase seats in bulk at a discount. If you’re interested
please email us at SnowProCertifications@snowflake.com with subject lines, “Partner Bulk Purchase
Discount Inquiry”.

What if I need to reschedule my exam?

No Show & Cancellation Policy: Any candidate who does not reschedule their exam as noted below will
be considered a no show and will forfeit their registration fee. Cancellations need to be made 72 hours
prior to the exam per Webassessor’s policy.

Rescheduling Policy: Candidates can reschedule an exam through Webassessor on the portal. The
request needs to be made at least 72 hours in advance.

Emergency Situation: If you were unable to take the exam at the time you have chosen, please contact
Snowflake at SnowProCertifications@snowflake.com with your subject line as “SnowPro Core Missed
Exam – Emergency.” On a case-by-case situation, you may receive a voucher to reschedule.

Do I get credit for passing or taking previous training classes?

If you previously attended the legacy partner offered “Associate” and “Professional Certifications”
onsite, you should have received a voucher to take the SnowPro Core Certification Exam on
Webassessor at no cost. Vouchers must be used within 90 days of receipt.

 If you previously attended one of the Snowflake Partner Bootcamps prior to August 2019 and did not
pass the exam, you should have received a voucher to take the SnowPro Core Certification Exam on
Webassessor for no cost. Vouchers must be used within 90 days of receipt.

If you fit the profile of either two of the above and have not received a voucher, please contact
SnowProCertifications@snowflake.com with ‘SnowPro Core Voucher Inquiry’ as the subject.

Is training required in order to attempt the SnowPro Core Certification?

Everyone is welcomed to attempt the SnowPro Core Certification exam. We recommend that Customers
and Partners without Snowflake implementation attend an onsite Snowflake training
(https://community.snowflake.com/s/instructor-led-training) prior to attempting the exam, but it is not a
prerequisite.

Note that it is not recommended to take the exam if an individual has no prior Snowflake experience or
knowledge.

When will I be receiving proof that I have passed the Snowflake Certification Exam?
If you have passed the SnowPro Core Certification exam, you will be issued a digital, verifiable
SnowPro Core Certification badge via email. We are still working with our vendor to get this live, in the
interim please refer to your examination results as proof that you are SnowPro Core Certified. Once live,
you will be issued your SnowPro Core Certification badge via email. Thank you for being patient with
us.

What if I fail my initial attempt?

If you don’t pass on your first attempt, don’t give up, you can try again! You can pay the $175 fee
attempt to access the exam again, but you will be required to wait 7 days between each attempt. In this
waiting period, we recommend you take that time to further your learning and education via on demand
public Snowflake training and refresh on concepts where you may have struggled during the exam.

Can I take the Snowflake Core Certification Exam Multiple times?

Yes, you can have an unlimited number of attempts on the exam as long as you pay for the fee. After
three (3) attempts, we recommend that you attend one of the onsite Snowflake training courses. You will
also be eligible for a 10% discount for a course after three (3) failed attempts. For this offer, please
email SnowProCertifications@snowflake.com with subject line, “Inquiry for Onsite training after three
failed attempts”.

 I have failed an exam; can I get more details on what I missed?
No. Individual question results are not published or reviewed. The only feedback Snowflake will give is
whether you have passed or not passed the exam.

How do I prepare to take the test? What resources are available to help me learn what I need to know
for the test?

LEGACY PARTNER CERTIFICATIONS

What is the status of legacy Partner Certifications (L1 and L2)?
The Associate (L1) and Professional (L2) Certifications do not count towards the existing SnowPro Core
Certification program. Once you pass the new SnowPro Core Certification exam, the badge issued to
you will also maintain metadata history, designating you have the legacy Certifications.

If you attended an onsite training course to receive the former partner certifications, you will receive a
voucher to attempt the SnowPro Core Certification exam at no cost. Vouchers expire 90 days after
receipt.

Where do I go to set up my account?
In order to log into Webassesor-Snowflake, you must have Snowflake Lodge Community credentials.

If you do not have Snowflake Lodge Community credentials, you can register here with the community
here, https://community.snowflake.com/CommunitiesSelfReg . Once registered with the community,
you can access Webassessor by clicking on the log in button found on
https://community.snowflake.com/snowprocertifications .

 How do I edit information on my profile?
To update your profile information, email SnowProCertifications@snowflake.com with the subject
“Edit Profile Information”. Please be specific about what you need to be updated on your profile.
Remember, information on your Lodge Community is synced with your Webassessor account.

How can I get a copy of a receipt for my expenses?

To get a copy of your receipt for purchasing access to the exam, log into your Snowflake Webassessor
account and select the receipts tab.

How do I setup online proctoring?

In order to setup online proctoring, you will need to have the necessary specifications required by
Webassessor and properly set up ‘Sentinel.’ You will be prompted to set up ‘Sentinel’ when you
purchase an exam. Make sure to review all specifications at least a week prior to your exam date to
ensure you have the necessary access to complete the exam.

Note: For online proctoring, you will need a separate webcam.

CERTIFICATION VERIFICATION
How do I verify my Certification?
Once you have passed the SnowPro Core Certification exam, you will be issued a digital, verifiable
badge via email. You will be able to verify your Certification with the badge link. Please use your

 examination pass result as proof that you are SnowPro Core Certified until we send you the formal
badge. For verification, if necessary by a customer or employer, please have them email
SnowProCertifications@snowflake.com with subject line “SnowPro Core Certification Verification”.

How do I opt in or opt out of the Certification Verification Portal?

You will receive your digital badge via email and you will choose whether or not to share your SnowPro
Core Certification badge.

MAINTAINING CERTIFICATIONS

Does the SnowPro Core Certification exam expire?

Yes, the SnowPro Core Certification expires one year after the date you passed the exam.

What happens when my SnowPro Core Certification Exam expires?

As Snowflake is growing and features are continuously being added, changed, or improved, we want to
make sure our SnowPro’s are up to date on Snowflake technology, hence the expiration dates on the
Certifications.

When your SnowPro Core Certification expires, you can renew your SnowPro Core Certification by
signing up for and successfully passing the new updated exam and any additional requirements.
