Ans: He is considered as first Muslim scientist who studied animals in detail. His
famous writings are Al-Khail, Al-Abil, Al-Wahoosh, Khalaq al Ansan.
Ans: The elements which take part in making body mass are called bioelements.
Ans: O, C, H, N, Ca, P.
Q: Define biomolecules.
Ans: When bioelements combine through ionic and covalent bonding, stable
paticles are formed which are called biomolecules. e.g lipids, proteins etc.
Q: Define organelle.
Q: Define cell.
Ans: The subcellular structures or organelles assemble together and form the unit
of life called cell.
Q: Define tissue.
Ans: Tissues are the groups of similar cells specialized for performance of a
common function. For example blood is a tissue having three types of blood cells.
Q: Define organ.
Ans: In higher multicellular organisms more than one type of tissues having
related functions are organized together and make a unit called organ.
Ans: Different organs performing related functions are organized together in the
form of organ system. For example digestive system.
Q: Define organism.
Ans: Different organs and organ systems are organized together to form an
individual or an organism. For example human being.
Q: Define population.
Q: Define community.
Q: Define habitat.
Ans: Habitat means the area of the environment in which organism live.
Q: Define specie.
Q: Define biosphere.
A: The organisms in which only one cell makes the life. e.g euglena. Amoeba,
paramecium.
Ans: In colonial organization many unicellular organisms live together but do not
have any division of labour among them. Each cell in colony lives its own life and
does not depend upon other cell. e.g volvox.
Q: What is multicellular organization?
Ans: In multi cellular organization cells are organized in the form of tissues, organs
and organ systems. e.g frog, mustered plant.
Ans: The plant body is used as vegetable and its seeds are used for extracting oil.
