REPORT – Public transport options

Introduction
The aim of this report is to provide a description of the local transport options in
our town, discuss the quality of the service and make a series of suggestions in
the final paragraph.
Current situation
As I live pretty far from the university, using the public transport has become a
habit of mine. Although, I frequently use the tram or the underground, I mostly
travel by bus. I have learned almost all the lines and now I can go in town
wherever I want without having to consult the map. Our town has a diverse
range of transport means, starting from the various types of busses to light rail
transit (LTR).
Pros and cons
The public transport has a myriad of benefits. Firstly, it is cheaper than you
might expect. If you are a student it is even cheaper. Consequently, the fines are
really high. Another important aspect of the public transport is its reliability.
There is practically no other way you can travel to work in the morning as the
traffic congestion is overwhelming.
On the other hand, public transport has several drawbacks. Due to intensive use,
some older busses have started to pollute heavily. The smell of burnt gasoline is
sometimes unbearable. Also, in the evenings there are not enough busses or
trams and the stations get really crowded.
Recommendations
In the light of those above I recommend the following:
 The town hall should replace the old bussed with new ones
 Bus and tram frequency should be changed during peak hours
Hopefully, our town's public transport will gradually improve.
