āhanā biʾa ālihī
ʾaḥwālihī
our selves with his states
Indeed Allah & His angels shower blessings on the Prophet.

yāā ʾayyuhal ladhīna āmanū ṣallū
allū ʿalayhi wa sallimū taslīmā our our innermost consciousness by his ways
O you who believe, pray blessings on him and greet him abundantly. 33:56

allāhumma ṣalli wa sallim ʿalā man jaʿaltahū our inner core with his witnessings
O Allah bless and give peace to him whom You have made

amālihī

sababal li-
li-nshiqāqi

jabarūtiyyati our vision with the lights of the countenance of his beauty
cause of splitting asunder Your illimitable jabarūtī secrets
wa ʾakhwātima
ʾakhwātima ʾaʿmālin
ʿmālinā
ālinā fī
fī marḍ
marḍātiḥ
ātiḥī
wa-
wa-nfilāqal
nfilāqal li-
li-ʾanwārikal
ʾanwārikal raḥ
raḥmāniyyati
āniyyati and the last of our deeds in what pleases him
and of breaking forth of Your lights of absolute mercy
ḥattā
attā nashhadaka bihī
bihī wa huwa bika
fa-
fa-ṣāra nāāʾiban
nāāʾiban ʿanil haḍ
haḍratir rabbāniyyati
rabbāniyyati until we behold You through him and him through You
thus becoming delegate of the lordly presence

nāāʾiban ʿanil ḥaḍratayni bil ḥaḍratayni
wa khalīfata
khalīfata ʾasrārikadh
ʾasrārikadh dhātiyyati
dhātiyyati So I am a delegate from the two presences through the two presences
and the successor of Your secrets of divine essence
wa adulla bihimā
bihimā ʿalayhumā
ʿalayhumā
fa-
fa-huwa yā
yāqūtatu
ūtatu ʾaḥadiyyati dhātika
dhātikaṣ
ātikaṣ ṣamadiyyati indicating each of them through one another
For he is the very gem of the oneness of Your ultimate kernel
wa nasʾaluka
nasʾaluka llāhumma
llāhumma ʾañ tuṣ
tuṣalliya wa tusallima ʿalayhi
wa ʿaynu maẓ
maẓhari ṣifātikal
ifātikal āzaliyyati And we ask You, O Allah, to bless and invoke peace upon him
and the site of the appearance of Your beginningless traits

fa-bika miñka ṣāra ḥijāban
ijāban ʿañka a blessing and peace that befit his honor
So by You and from You he became a veil from You

bihimā ʿalayhi
wa sirram min ʾasrāri
ʾasrāri ghayb
ghaybika and his august estate, and through which You unite me with him
and a secret from the secrets of Your unseen world
wa tuqarribnī
tuqarribnī bi-
bi-khāli
khāliṣ wuddihimā ladayhi
āliṣi wuddihimā
ḥujibta bihī
bihī ʿañ kathīrim
kathīrim min khalqika and draw me nearer him by the purity of their love
by which You are veiled from Your creatures
wa tañfaḥ
tañfaḥanī
anī bi-
bi-sababihimā
sababihimā nafḥ
nafḥatal ʾatqiyā
ʾatqiyāāʾī
fa-
fa-huwal kanzul muṭ
muṭalsamu and present me by cause of them the fragrance of the God-conscious
For he is the talismanic treasure
wa tamnaḥ
tamnaḥunī
unī minhumā
minhumā minḥ
minḥatal ʾaṣ
ʾaṣifayāā
ifayāāʾ
āāʾi
wal ba
baḥruz zākhirul
zākhirul muṭ
muṭamṭ
amṭamu and bestow on me by them the gift of the purified
and is the high wave-filled sea

fa-nasʾaluka
nasʾaluka llāhumma

bi-jāhihī
āhihī ladayka Because he is the impregnable secret
So we ask You O Allah by his eminence with You
wal jawharul fardul makn

wa bi-
bi-kirāmatih
kirāmatihī
āmatihī ʿalayka and the hidden unique jewel
and his preciousness to You

ʿalayhā ʾaṣdāfu maknūn

ʾañ taʿmura
taʿmura qawāliban

ʿālihī For he is the priceless gem enclosed in the shells of Your hidden secrets
to make our bodies flourish with his works
wal ghayhūbatul
ghayhūbatul muñ
muñtakhabu minhā
minhā maʿ
maʿlūmātika
ūmātika
wa ʾasmā
ʾasmāʿanā
anā bi-
bi-ʾaqwālih
aqwālihī
ālihī and the ineffable darkness from which things known to You are chosen
and our hearing with his words,
fa-
fa-kāna ghaybam min ghaybika
wa qulūban
qulūbanā
ūbanā biʾanw
biʾanwārih
ʾanwārihī
ārihī So He is unseen of Your unseen,
our hearts with his lights,
wa badalam miñ sirri rubūbiyyatika
rubūbiyyatika
and an alternate from the secret of Your lordship,
ḥattā
ttā ṣāra bi-
bi-dhālika
dhālika maẓ
maẓharan nastadillu bihī
bihī ʿalayka wa jamī
jamīʿil muʾmin
muʾminīna
ʾminīna wal muʾ
muʾmināti
mināti
so he has become a sign from which we infer You, and all believing men and women,
wa kayfa lā
lā yakūdhu
yakūdhu kadhālika
kadhālika wal muslimīna
muslimīna wal muslimāti
muslimāti
and how should it be otherwise and all Muslim men and women,
wa qad ʾakhbartanā
akhbartanā bi-
bi-dhālika
dhālika fī
fī muḥ
muḥkami kitābika
kitābika al-
al-muṭ
muṭīʿīna minhum wa ʾahlil ʾawzār
ʾawzār
when You informed us of that unambiguously in Your book the obedient of them and those who bear sins.

bi-qawlika ʾinnal ladhīna
ladhīna yubāyi
yubāyiʿ
āyiʿūnaka innamā
innamā yubāyi
yubāyiʿ
āyiʿūna llā
llāha
with Your words, “Those who swear fealty to you but swear fealty to Allah,”

dhālikar raybu wa ḥaṣalal intibāhu

through which all doubt has left us and we have been apprised.

wa-jʿal illāhumma
illāhumma dalālatan

ālatanā ʿalayka bihī

And make, O Allah, our guiding to You be by means of him,
wa muʿāmal
muʿāmalā
ʿāmalātanā
tanā maʿ
maʿaka min ʾanwāri
ʾanwāri mutāba
mutābaʿatih
ābaʿatihī
ʿatihī Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Masʿūd
and our dealings with You from the lights of following him. al-Fāsī wrote the Yāqūtiyya and then saw the

wa-rḍa llāhumma
llāhumma ʿalā
alā man jaʿ

maḥālal lil iqtidā
iqtidā Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him & grant
And be well-pleased, O Allah, with those You have made exemplars, him peace, pointing to Shaykh al-Fāsī’s chest,
wa ṣayyarta qulūbahum
qulūbahum maṣ
maṣābī
ābīḥal hudā
hudā saying “This is the impregnable secret.” In al-
and whom You have made lamps of guidance from their hearts Fāsī’s vision, the Messenger then showed the

ahharīna min riqqil ʾaghyāri
aghyāri litany to the saints. The Qutb said, “Whoever

persists in its recitation, thrice at morning and

and from whose hearts there appeared pearls of meaning by sense and by spirit.” And Allah knows best.

qalāāʾ taḥqīqil ʾahlil manān

which were made necklaces of realization for those of foundation
wa khtartahum fī
fī sābiqil
sābiqil iqtidāri
iqtidāri
And whom You chose from the reaches of previous destiny
ʾannahum min ʾaṣḥ
ʾaṣḥābi
ṣḥābi nabiyyikal mukhtāri
mukhtāri
to be the Companions of Your chosen Prophet
wa raḍ
raḍītahum li-
li-ʾañ
ʾañtiṣ
tiṣāri dīnika
dīnika
and through whom You were pleased to give Your religion victory;
fa-
fa-humus sād
sādātul
ādātul ʾakhyāru
ʾakhyāru
they being the finest of the elect.
wa ḍāʿif illāhumma
illāhumma mazīda
mazīda riḍ
riḍwānika ʿalayhim
Bestow, O Allah, a manifold increase of Your good pleasure upon them,
maʿal
maʿal āli wal ʿashīrati
ʿashīrati wal muqtafīna
muqtafīna lil āthāri
āthāri
with the prophetic family and clan, and all who follow their traces.
wa-
wa-ghfir illāhumma
illāhumma dhunūban
dhunūbanā
ūbanā wa wālidayn
wālidaynā
ālidaynā
And forgive, O Allah, our sins and those of our parents,
wa mashāyikhin
mashāyikhinā
āyikhinā wa ʾikhwānin
ʾikhwāninā
āninā fi
fi-llāhi
llāhi
and our shaykhs and brethren in Allah,
