This article analyzes the use of speech acts in political speeches. It identifies the main speech acts that politicians use such as representatives, directives, commissives and expressives. The study found that politicians frequently use representatives to share their views and directives to call supporters to specific actions. Commissives to make promises and expressives to praise or criticize were also common speech acts identified.
