Conclusion

SolarCity, a subsidiary of Tesla is an innovative company which helps communities to

transition from fossil oil to renewable & sustainable energies specifically solar panels

and batteries. Its objective is to assess the need, manufacturer, install, and support the

user with an excellent customer service strategy.

It is no doubt that SolarCity’s success is because of Tesla strategy which makes its

marketing prosperous. In other words, Tesla’ experiences help SolarCity not only to

penetrate existing markets but also, create new ones with focussed-differentiation and

direct selling. In addition, its support by federal & local governments in a form of grants

and tax benefits through green programs such as solar energy. SolarCity also includes

acquisitions and alliances with a key player like a supplier to make the final product

‘price/services attractive and competitive to the customers/users. The direct-to-customer

model that means unnecessary intermediaries to connect with customers, is cutting

operating costs and delivering an affordable product to a customer with an excellent

acceptance for a long-term strategy by SolarCity and its owner- Tesla.

Canvas model helps Managers, first of all, to analyze the business based on nine

elements/categories and then easily visualize those relevant elements that for instance,

SolarCity needs to be focused on a certain time of the business taking into

consideration the sudden changes by customer taste.


SolarCity is going on the right road because of the climate change’ concerns. So, it

makes that the business continue growing and appeal for more new users over time.
