HEART OF THE TREE.
1) Everyone who plants a tree does a noble deed.
2) He earns blessings for mankind.
3) Everyone who plants a tree understand the importance of planting a tree.
4) A nation’s growth depends upon trees.
5) Trees are beneficial to mankind as its sap, leaves and wood serve man
6) The poet is stressing on the fact that we need to understand how trees can
be beneficial not only to humans but also to birds and other species.
7) Trees are our heritage and we need to protect them.
8) Tree is symbolic of goodness.

toll on environment.
COLD WITHIN.
1) The poem highlights human vices like prejudices, discrimination, bigotry,

death.

1) The poem celebrates various stages of Womanhood.
2) Each colour represent the various moods and colours of human life.
3) The “rainbow tinted circles of light” are for the happy daughters and happy
wives.
4) Silver and blue bangles are for the young maidens.
5) The “flushed” red bangles are for the maidens dreaming like the young
buds.
6) The green of the “new born leaves” represent maidenhood when the little
girls have blossomed.
7) The yellow bangles “like the sun lit corn” are for the bride.
8) The red bangles are “like the flame of marriage fire. It denotes the hidden
desires in her heart.
9) The tinkling , luminous bangles represent “bridal laughter and bridal tear”
10) The purple gold flecked bangles represent a mature woman who has
shouldered the responsibilities of life.
TELEVISION.
1) The poem presents in a comical way to the serious issue of television
viewing.
2) He expresses his concern and anxiety towards the existence of television in
our lives.
3) He warns us that excessive television watching kills imagination and robs
creativity.
4) The poet strongly recommends to replace books with television.
5) He feels reading books can lead to discovery of deeper joy, fulfilment in
life and open a whole new world of enjoyment for children.
