    Cityscapes with Line Designs

    Kindergarten - 1st Grade

    Day 1: Build Buildings


    ❏ Powerpoint of cityscapes and line designs
    ❏ Build buildings with the edge of cardboard dipping in black
    paint as a straight line stamp
    ❏ Make sure to write names on back of paper BEFORE
    painting
    ❏ Remind them papers need to go long ways
    ❏ Dab paint don't scoop

    Day 2: Line Designs


    ❏ Brainstorm different line designs on the board as a class
    ❏ Use oil pastels to draw line designs on the buildings (no black or brown oil pastels, it takes away from the outlines of the
    buildings created by the paint)
    ❏ Use white crayons to create clouds in the sky
    ❏ Use blue watercolor to paint the sky and over white crayon (water resist)
    ❏ Remind them to ONLY paint the sky

    Materials Needed:
    18” x 12” white paper
    Pencils
    Black Paint
    Oil Pastels
    Blue Watercolors
    White crayons
    Little Squares of cardboard
    Watercolor brushes
    Cups of water
