Jessy:

Likes math and good at understanding. Bit moody and shuts down frequently. More teacher

interaction and push are needed to bring back her to the class. Shows reluctance/disinterest to play

or to participate in a class activity when paired with lower grades.

Numbers:

Good at dealing with numbers below 1000. With her difficulty in writing, writes with many

mistakes.

Can do addition and subtraction with a sum/difference below 1000. Did word problems when

teacher read them for her.

Shows little difficulty in rounding off and estimations.

Can perform single digit multiplications, double digit by single digit multiplications. Takes time

to recall the tables.

Division is not introduced yet.

Spatial Understanding & Geometry:

Can identify various 2D and 3D shapes with teacher’s help. Showed difficulty in understanding

tiling and patterns.

Measurements:

Can chose among a ruler and tape to measure lengths. Showed difficulty in using standard units

for lengths and weights.

Time and Money:

Can tell time by seeing a wall clock. Can use a calendar to check about a specific date.

Can solve simple problems involving money transactions.

Had great difficulty in reading. Don’t show interest to read. Shuts down and become inferior

when teacher pushed her to read.

Jeevana

Likes Math and good understanding and logic. Likes doing worksheets rather than working in

a notebook. Asks for examples without reading the instructions, sometimes the teacher has to

insist her to read and do.

Good at reading and writing numbers up to 999, place values up to 100s, comparing them and

addition and subtraction (with borrowing) with a sum/difference below a hundred. At times did

mistakes while doing subtraction with borrowing (Ex: In 84 - 37, borrows 10 from 8 and subtracts

six and forgets to add 4 and writes 3 in the units place.)

Good at single-digit multiplication easily and learned 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 tables. Can do two digits by

one digit multiplication but not accurate every time. Did mistakes in writing the multiplicands

with the correct place value before adding.

Understood the concept of division but more practice needed. Should work on establishing the

division facts.

Can chose a correct number operation to solve the given word problem.

Good at using a ruler to measure lengths. Can estimate weights as heavier, lighter. Had difficulty

in expressing with correct/standard units. Had difficulty in understanding the sequence of days.

Can tell the days in order but not yet ready to answer the questions like "If today is Monday, what

is the day after tomorrow?"

Yasaswini

Likes Math and good understanding and logic. Asks for variety of problem sets on same concept.

Missed many classes in 2nd and 3rd trimesters. After coming back, took one or two classes to get

adjusted to the class room environment. Tries to grab the attention in the class.

Good at reading and writing numbers up to 999, place values up to 100s, comparing them and

addition and subtraction (with borrowing) with a sum/difference below a hundred. Had difficulty

in doing subtractions with borrowing.

Good at single-digit multiplication easily and learned 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 tables. Takes time to recall

the tables. More practice needed in doing two digits by one digit multiplication.

Understood the concept of division but more practice needed. Should work on establishing the

division facts.

Can solve the given word problem with a little teacher help.

Good at using a ruler to measure lengths. Can estimate weights as heavier, lighter. Had difficulty

in expressing with correct/standard units. Had difficulty in understanding and in eliciting the

sequence of days in a week.

Sai Abhinav D.

Likes math and good at understanding and logic. Love to do puzzles and problems involving little

higher order thinking skills. Likes to learn through reading and discussion. At times did mistakes

with over confidence. Don’t like to write steps and show working. Teacher has to insist to do so.

Good at dealing with numbers and four basic operations. Can chose and execute right number

operations while solving problems. Can find the LCM and HCF of a given pair of numbers by

observation. Can convert larger units of money, time, length, weight in to smaller units.

Can apply four basic operations while solving problems involving money, time, length, weight

and volume. Can deal with like fractions. Can convert improper to mixed and vice-versa. Can use

decimal notation in money and lengths.

Can classify angles in to acute, right and obtuse. Can make cubes and cuboids using nets. Can find

the area and perimeter of figures made of rectangles and squares.

Likes math and takes little time to understand logic. Puts lot of effort to learn new concepts. Takes

teacher help when ever needed. Asks for extra practice.

Good at dealing with 4 digit numbers (Below 10000). Can perform four basic operations. Little

more practice is needed in division (Short method). Can deal with money, time and lengths with

teacher’s help. Takes time while converting larger units into smaller ones. More practice is needed

in working with 1/4, ½ and ¾ .

Had confusion (in Telugu name and English name) in classifying various 2D and 3D objects by

their name. Can deal with number patterns, had difficulty in tiling and identifying the views of a

3D objects.

Can deal with money, time, length and weight and can chose right operation to solve the

problems involving these.

Likes math and good understand logic. Likes to do oral calculations. Bit lazy and shows less

interest to use pen and paper. Asks for short cuts and easy methods.
