    Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It spreads mainly through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Common symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. While most cases result in mild symptoms, some progress to pneumonia and multi-organ failure. Currently, there is no vaccine and treatment focuses on relieving symptoms.
