Hidden Figures is based on true events, it illustrates the lives of three African American women and their
significant contributions to the field of aeronautics while working at the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (NASA) during the Space Race between Russia in 1950s and 60s. The Central Theme of
the film are Racism, Feminism, Space Race and American Dream. Racism is the major theme of the film
because it clearly showed how white people discrimate colored people or black people in their society.
The film showed that has a different place of education for colored people. The workplace of colored
people is separate to white people even their comfort room and buildings. Feminism, it meas that the
world is dominanted by man, the film points out that colored women are the lowest representation of
people in which they can't do the work of men. Space Race, another theme that is significant to the
backdrop of the film, the conflict between the United States and Soviet Union during the Cold War.
When the Soviet Union launches a Sputnik in 1957, which triggers a Space Race with the United States.
And lastly, Dream, it focus to the three African- American women who pursue their careers, families,
and work to better their lives and achieve something.

The story of Hidden Figures is enlighten and help me to deeply understand the society, and how to deal
with those kind of people. Discrimination, Feminism, Hardworking, Education, Intelligent and Respect
those are the things that I saw in the film. Discrimination is one of the big problem in the society, some
people doesn't know how to respect and appreciate what the God created. I was being emotional while
watching the film, because it feels hurt when people treat you different because of your skin color,
gender, social status, etc. One of the scenario from the film that make me so emotional is the separate
comfort room for white woman and colored woman and the separate workplace for them. Feminism is
another problem of society and Im huge against with that, the woman can't show their talent, skills and
intelligent because of this system, man always think and say that Woman is Weak, and I believe that
they were wrong, because there is a lot of woman in the world who are powerful, talented, intelligent
and brave compare to them example of this are the three African-American woman who raised and give
honor theirself. Woman are very hard-working and passionate to their work like what I watched in the
film, they work to better their lives and achieve more. This film make me realized that Education is very
important, people can discriminate your skin color, gender, social status, etc but not your intelligence.
And I think this film teach viewers to learn and earn Respect. We are different as a human, and we
should respect it. I rate this film 8, because it's enlightened and empowered woman and black people.
Im very much Inspired in this movie so I recommend this to everyone. I'll make sure they will learn,
encourage and inspire.
