● Obesity raises an employee’s healthcare costs by 27% and
obesity-related absenteeism costs employers $11.2 billion per year
(American Heart Association, 2018).

Cost Savings
● Employees with a cardiovascular disease lost 56 hours more per
year in productivity and this cost $1,119 more per year in
insurance (American Heart Association, 2018).
● Heart disease also leads to an average of 13 lost workdays per year
per worker (American Heart Association, 2018).
● By implementing our Healthy Heart program, employers will only
need to spend roughly $2000.00 to help keep their firefighters
healthy.
● In return, this will decrease absenteeism, increase employee
performance and decrease health care costs.
● Overall, this company will be saving on average $3000 - $5000 per
year.
