James Madison Health and Physical Activity Institute

July 13-15, 2020

Harrisonburg, Va.

This conference is designed to improve health and physical education instruction. It also

incorporates the Virginia Standards of Learning. The Virginia Department of Education and the

Virginia Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance sponsor this

conference. The location of this conference is only 45 minutes away from my home so this will

be a great opportunity for me.

VAHPERD Convention
November 6-8, 2020

Reston, Va.

This convention offers the opportunity to hear many speakers that will provide instruction

assistance and activity ideas. The activities are centered around different curriculums. This also

includes social emotional learning and adaptations for students with disabilities. The conference

includes whole group activities as well as activities to include the whole school.

To continue to be active in extending my learning, I can continue to read and publish in

journals as well as attend other conferences. I can also bring back what I have learned from the

conferences and webinars and present to my colleagues and advocate in my field.
