Steps:

1. Area of entire yard (including house and driveway)= 13110 ft^2

2. Area of driveway= 1035

3. Area of house= 2960

4. Minus area of driveway and area of house from total area

5. New area is 9115 ft^2

6. Find depth= 4 inches/ ⅓ ft

7. How much soil= 112.5 yd^3

8. Cost of soil? $18 per cubic yard= $2025

9. Which one is cheaper? Delivery or pick up?

a. Delivery: ​$30 per truckload on top of the soil cost. Each truckload can deliver up

to 18 cubic yards. Total cost for delivery is $210 (added on to soil cost).

b. Pick up: Gas? 17 miles= a gallon. How much is a gallon? $3.79. To pick up soil is

9 miles. Costs $4 to go there and back. How many times? Truck can hold 2.366

yards of dirt. Total cost for pick up= $190.194 (added on to soil cost).

10. Which one is cheaper? Pick up. Saving a total of $19.806.
