How we began – Jeremiah Prison
Ministry began on November 30,
1999, which was birth out of a
bond for a young man that made a
wrong choice in life.
Our Vision –It hasn’t changed but
security has and won’t allow us to
go into the Chapels. So we
continue to do one on one to God

90 men have been released in 15
years. We still are ministering to
61 inmates in 4 states.

SEPTEMBER IS GONE, OCTOBER IS HERE AND FALL IS UPON US!
I do love the foliage this time of year; the colors of the trees are
beginning to be so vibrant. We put away out flower garden
decorations, the hanging wind chimes on the deck, the colorful flag,
cut back the summer flowers and now it’s time to cut back the fall
flowers. A never ending process, the cycle of time!
We continue going to the prisons to visit the inmates. It’s a joy to
visit them, share Jesus, and be their friend. Yesterday’s trip was an
adventure coming home. Road construction for one going and
coming, on I-81 South in PA but just after exit 77 we hit a major
slow down. There was a bad accident at just around exit 72 in the
North bound lane that closed I-81 north bound for 3 hours which
made our getting home an hour longer; we left at 6 am arrived
home at 5 pm and thank God we made it home safe!
JUVENILE LIFER TO HAVE HIS CASE HEARD by SCOTSU
Montgomery v. Louisiana The U.S. Supreme Court Set for Argument was on
10/13/15. In the Louisiana case, Henry Montgomery asks that Miller v.
Alabama be applied retroactively to him. Montgomery, who has been in
prison since 1963, is serving a mandatory life sentence for the murder of an
East Baton Rouge deputy sheriff. The murder happened less than two weeks
after Montgomery turned 17.
At the writing of this newsletter I read the Amicus Curiae filed by the US
Solicitor General from July because 10/13/15, he had 15 minutes to speak in
favor of Miller Being Retroactive and not just a Rule. At least that’s my
opinion. Louisiana is stating that the Supreme Court shouldn’t hear the case
but they used Federal Law to deny Montgomery, so the US Supreme had a
right to hear the case and correct Louisiana’s interruption of Federal Law.
There are many others against retroactivity but it will go back to SCOTUS
Miller 2012 of Juveniles given Life without parole is retroactive and also to
resentence. Resentencing is an issue too as some states don’t want to re-
hear the cases. It will take several months for the answer from the SCOTUS.
I will keep you posted on the progress of this case so please keep praying.
Pray for us as we travel the highways to and fro to the prisons.
