I All Allison Model 25O-C40 Series engines are affected by this Bulletin as follows:

B. Reason:
To release a new fuzz burning Quick Disconnect Chip Detector and Adapter Assembly that
prevents loss of oil when the detector is removed from the Power and Accessory Gearbox
lower sump.

C. DescriDtion:
This Bulletin provides instructions to remove the Power and Accessory Gearbox lower sump
Quick Disconnect Magnetic Plug P/N 23005287 and Magnetic Plug Disconnect .Adapter P/N
23005291-l from the lower left hand boss in the Power and Accessory Gearbox Cover, plug
the hole with Plug P/N 23057772; remove Plug P/N 23063407 from the lower aft boss and
replace it with the new fuzz burning Quick Disconnect Magnetic Plug P/N 23062026 and Self
Closing Valve Adapter Assembly P/N 23061944. Instructions are also provided to replace the
top Quick Disconnect Magnetic Plug P/N 23064626 from the Power and Accessory Gearbox
Case with the new fuzz burning Quick Disconnect Magnetic Plug.

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
A. Replace the lower sump Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plugs and Adapter Assemblies in the
Power and Accessory Gearbox Cover with new fuzz burning Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plugs
and Self Closing Valve Adapter Assemblies as follows:
NOTE: Use all applicable procedures in Operation and Maintenance Manuals CSP 21000
and Illustrated Parts Catalog 23001 to perform the following accomplishment
I instructions.
(1) Remove Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plug P/N 23005287 (2), Magnetic Disconnect Plug
Adapter Assembly P/N 23005291-l (3) and Packing AS3085-015 (4) from the lower left
hand boss in the Power and Accessory Gearbox Cover. (REF Figure 1.)
(2) Install Plug P/N 23057772 (5) with a new Packing AS3085-015 (6) in the same
location and torque to 80-120 lb in.

(3) Remove Plug P/N 23063407 (7) and Packing AS3085-019 (8) from the lower aft boss in
the Power and Accessory Gearbox Cover.
(4) Install Self Closing Valve Adapter Assembly P/N 23061944 (9) using a new Packing
AS3085-019 (10) and torque adapter to 80-120 lb in.
(5) Install Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plug P/N 23062026 (11) into the adapter.
8. Replace the top Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plug in the Power and Accessory Gearbox Case
as follows:
(1) Remove the top Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plug P/N 23005287 from Magnetic
Disconnect Plug Adapter Assembly P/N 23005291-l (2) in the Power and Accessory
Gearbox Case (4). (REF Figure 2.)
(2) Install a new top Magnetic Quick Disconnect Plug, P/N 23064626 (3), in the same
location.

C. Remove the two jump harnesses P/N 23065391 and return to stock for use on other 250
engines.
D. Perform a leak check in accordance with the referenced Operation and Maintenance Manual.
E. Record compliance in the Engine Log Book, Gearbox Assembly (yellow pages), Part III,
Modification Record, as applicable with the following:
