CONSUMER AFFAIRS AUTHORITY ACT, No. 09 OF 2003

Order under Section 20(5)

ACTING under the powers vested in it by Section 20(5) of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 09 of 2003, the Consumer
Affairs Authority orders that no importer, producer, distributor, or trader shall sell, expose or offer for sale, display for sale the
varieties of rice listed below, above the Maximum Retail Prices given hereunder :-

Variety Maximum Retail Price

Keeri Samba Rs. 125/- per kg
White / Red Samba - Steamed/Boiled (excluding Suduru Samba) Rs. 90/- per kg
White / Red Raw Samba Rs. 90/- per kg
White / Red Nadu - Steamed /Boiled Rs. 90/- per kg
(excluding Mottaikarupan and Attakari)
White / Red Raw Rice Rs. 85/- per kg

This Order shall come into effect from 10th April, 2020.
The Consumer Affairs Authority do by this Order rescind Order No. 56 published in Gazette Extraordinary
No. 2154/19 on 19.12.2019.
