Innovation Management
7+-2 your opinion/reflection. In the first class we talked in general about IM, in particular,
we mentioned types of innovation or simply 4P (product, place, price, promotion), followed by
historical development.
First mover Advantage and Entry Barrier. I like the coverage of that topic, because here we
were shown some cases where first mover did not exactly finish as a successful company, for
example IBM, Microsoft and etc.
Life Cycle and Dominant Design. I’ve already known that part, but I was glad that we
revised it. The main concept here is that everything will change, that’s why you product has to
respond to these changes.
Value Innovation and Strategy Canvas. I found it very useful to apply such concept to
understand your strength and weaknesses, because by looking at the graph and visualizing you can
find the ways you have to improve on.
Business Model. I really liked a model with Vales Proposition, Supplier, Values, Target
Market and so on. By discussing the case of National Palace Museum, we came up with its values
and developed what parts of its business the museum had to work on.
Storytelling. That’s a wonderful way how companies touch feelings with their customers.
I’ve taken Marketing Management class where we covered advertising in general. However, in this
class we talked specifically about storytelling, you even asked us to make one.
Raise a new job in 2025, and explain whether you can do it. believe that by 2025 virtual
reality will be huge. I’ve read a book, which is written by Ernest Cline called Ready Player One.
This book is about how people live in the future (they stay at home and basically do everything they
need without leaving the house). On top of that, they play a virtual game through VR, where they
can do whatever they want. That’s why a demand for virtual reality designers, specialists will be big.
It is hard to tell whether I can do this kind of job, since my major is International Business. I think
people from ICID department have higher chances to become VR designers.
List at least one article or book based on this course that you have read or tried to read.
How to fly a horse by Kevin Ashton. Creators aren’t geniuses. Everybody can be a creator, being
consistent, hard work, and dedication you can succeed in the future by making something. In
addition, there is always a failure, but without that it’s difficult to find a solution for a problem
you’re facing. Moreover, creations are made step by step, without a rush (followed by thorough
thinking).
