Re: Recommendation for Katelin Nolan

To Whom It May Concern:

Katelin Nolan began her working with our school as an assistant in preschool classrooms when she was in high school.
Katelin developed an interest in teaching at a young age and her passion was evident early on in her life.

Our school has high standards for educating young children, as an Accredited school through Early Learning Leaders NAC
(National Accreditation Commission). Katelin quickly learned the elements that needed to be in classrooms according to
various age levels. She was exposed to many different teaching styles as she worked with us during summers over her
college career.

Throughout her long tenure at our school, Katelin maintained the highest standards of courtesy that grew into
professionalism as she matured. I consider it an honor to write a recommendation for her.

Katelin worked with all ages at the preschool (18 months – 5 years), finding the greatest joy in working with fours and
fives. As she put her classroom knowledge to use in lesson planning and understanding child development, Katelin
became interested in working with children with special needs, requesting that she teach a class that included a child
who had been diagnosed with autism. Her patience with him was remarkable, and she did a good job of sharing
strategies and information with his parents and others who worked with him. She maintained an even, balanced
perspective as she helped him calm down when he became upset.

Katelin also planned engaging and creative activities, collecting materials she needed in advance of teaching. She used a
quiet but commanding voice and presence, and helped children become confident about toilet training, cleaning up
after themselves and trying new skills such as writing.

Our school added an elementary age summer camp in 2019, and Katelin worked with these groups, exhibiting the same
strengths of an excellent work ethic and professionalism. She was reliable in attendance and treated staff, parents and
leadership with respect. Katelin connected well with children of all ages.

I can heartily recommend Katelin for any teaching position for which she is qualified and interested in pursuing.
Although I did not have experience with her writing parent conferences, I feel that this will be an area of competence
given her experiences.
