Eight Persian cats were brought to a veterinary clinic with watery diarrhea, dullness, and weakness. A clinical examination found normal vital signs but pale mucous membranes. Microbiological tests found no bacteria, fungi, or parasites. The owner reported feeding a diet with 6% fiber content for the cats, which was suspected to be the cause of diarrhea as high fiber diets can cause diarrhea in cats. The owner was advised to switch to a diet with less than 3% fiber, and after 3 days all cats had recovered from diarrhea.
