DIARRHOEA DUE TO HIGH FIBER DIET IN PERSIAN CAT

8 Persian cats were presented to the Department of Veterinary


Clinical Complex, College of Veterinary Sciences, PRODDATUR,
with the history of watery diarrhoea, dullness and weakness. On
clinical examination of cats revealed that vital signs are normal body
temperature (102.1ºF), heart rate (180/min), pale conjunctival
mucous membrane noticed. On Microbiological examination,
revealed absence of bacteria and fungi and was free from parasitic ova
.Owner was inquired to bring the feed fed to these cats. In cats feed
6% fiber content was noticed we suspected that it may be the cause
and requested the owner to give diet to cat with less than 3% fiber
content .After 3 days all cats were recovered from diarrohea.
