Preparing Nutrient Agar Solution

Materials needed

 7 grams Nutrient Agar

 Erlenmeyer flask
 250ml distilled water
 Stirring rod
 Wire gauge
 Tripod
 Bunsen burner
 Foil

Step in preparing agar solution

1. Prepare 7 grams of nutrient agar powder

2. Suspend 7 grams of nutrient agar powder in 250ml distilled water.

3. Heat mixture with vigorous stirring and boil for 15minutes or until all components dissolves.

4. Remove the Erlenmeyer flask away from the heat, cover it with foil and allow it to cool
but not solidify.
