Objectives:

I. This research will focus on student's understanding on heterosexism and homophobia,


considering some of their culture and traditions. Since it will be a qualitative study,
researchers will be conducting an in-depth interview on selected freshmen students.

II. To evaluate freshmen students with their knowledge about heterosexism and
homophobia; and to know, if ever, how they live their lives with these mentalities.

III. To observe how heterosexist and homophobic people affects some social reality such
as stereotyping of grown-ups and sexual prejudices.

IV. The study could give insights/reasons why most people is not open to all gender
identities. To be specific, on how heterosexism and homophobia mind-set affects the
possibility of some freshmen students to be open-minded regarding with the other
gender identities. In addition, the study will discuss the impact to the community with
its people having these mentalities in carrying out real-life situations and challenges.
