Explore your vision through a new learning method

of applied theories and practical studies in real-
world situations with SIT. We offer opportunities
for all students to manipulate the modern Informa-
tion Technology tools to gain both knowledge and
understanding in these ideas.

The School of Information Technology (SIT), King

Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
emphasizes training people in the Information
Technology field to work professionally in the
business world. All classes are taught by expert
lecturers. Furthermore, SIT is the leader of Work-
shop seminars in cooperation with world-class
organizations such as IBM, Oracle, and HP
Networking to enhance and further knowledge of
Networking, Software Technology and Information
Technology Management.
SIT has a commitment to conduct
research to develop information
technology to meet the needs of
Thai society. We are currently
engaged in the following
research:

- DATA AND KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING LABORATORY (D-Lab) creates a

wealth of integrated knowledge and research information, including
technical knowledge, application skills, and knowledge exchange among
professors, researchers, entrepreneurs, and computer engineers from
various organizations.

-THE IP-COMMUNICATIONS LABORATORY (I-Lab) undertakes research

on quality measurement and standards for IP communication systems,
such as Voice over IP and Mobile Applications. The I-Lab also provides
consultation services for the government and private sector by experi-

society.
International

Network SIT focuses on information technology research that

can help solve social and environmental problems,
such as research addressing the problems of an
ageing society. The project was funded by the
National Research University (NRU) for research and
innovation to improve the lives of the elderly. There
is also research on a warning system to help pre-
vent catastrophic flooding (flooding disaster protec-
tion and warning system), which has been funded
by IBM Thailand. SIT also has partnerships with
leading universities to undertake joint research and
exchange knowledge. International institutions
include the University of Toronto, Canada, the Uni-
versity of Luxembourg in Luxembourg, and the
Illinois State University, USA.

Computer Science
Graduate students from SIT are capable of more than
just writing programs. We focus on educating our students in
the computer science theory of software development, database
design, and networks. We also want them to study computer
structure, how computer work, how to develop quality software
for large scale software development, and how to undertake
complex computer tasks. We expect our students to be able to
evaluate problems using different perspectives of logic and
create software to handle technological changes from across
the world. The English program encourages students to open up
their world of study, by providing them with educational oppor-
tunities with other universities and working with the world’s
leading IT organizations.
