We have learned that in order to have a clean
surrounding, we should know how to dispose our waste
materials properly.

When we dispose our wastes properly, we classify

the materials into biodegradable and non-
biodegradable. Biodegradable are materials that
decay and non-biodegradable are materials that do
not decay.

Disposing waste materials properly prevents us

from getting sick and makes our environment safe and
clean.

materials
Do these decaying materials good for our health?
Why? No, because decaying materials can cause
sickness to us.
2. Motivation

Let the pupils classify the materials presented if it

is biodegradable or non-biodegradable.
Biodegradable Non -biodegradable

B. Presentation

Check activity if correct.

What the things that you classified under bio-

degradable?

How about non-biodegradable?

12
C. Discussion

Basing from the materials classifies, what does Biodegradable are materials that can be
biodegradable mean? broken down into tiny pieces or can decay.

Kindly give examples.

How about non-biodegradable materials?

Non-biodegradable are materials that will not
decay and can also be reused.
Give examples.

Should we mix the biodegradable materials and

non-biodegradable materials? Why?

Do we need to take good care of our

environment? Why?

What are the things that we should remember
when we are outside our room?

Instruction:
** Each pupil will look for a pair.
**One will get biodegradable material and the
other will get a non-biodegradable material.
** Let pupils go out and look for biodegradable
and non-biodegradable materials.
** Each pair will present to the class what they Each pair will present their material
got outside.

D. Application

Instruction: The class be grouped into two. Each

group will have a representative to answer each
question.

Mechanics for the activity: Choose your score

1. Each group will have a representative.
2. The representative will answer a question.
3. If he answered the question, he will choose a
box/briefcase.
4. Each box/briefcase has a corresponding point
(-1,0, +1, or +2)

5. The group with the greatest number of points
