Summary
As a parent, the father must spend time with his children. Since he is not at home most of the
time, he might have this opportunity to make up for the time of his absence and therefore develop a
relation ship with them.
In spending time with his children, the father is counseled to have a close contact with his sons.
In this way, he can impart his lessons to them and the children can learn from him. He must be hand in
hand with his wife in raising their children and keeping them from evil influences.
The duty of training the children to be useful is not only a task of the mpother but also of the
father. Aside from spedning most of his time in their source of income, the father must also find some
time where he can be useful in the family. He is not excused from his responsibility. Moreover, by being
present in the growing years of his children's life, the father may be able to exert an influence that is
stronger than the influence of the world.
Though there be much work for the father ot dive in, he must give more of his attention in
observing the attitudes of his children and assign them to taks that are compatible with each of their
dispositions. Also, you must not speak words that will bring discouragement but at the same time do not
spoil them. Teach them to love each sibling.
In leisure times, the father can mingle with his children by getting involved in their tasks and as
they play. He must be a friend to them at the same time maintain his authority. In this way he will be
able to get to know his children deeper and be able to influence them for good.
As the couple teach their children, they must both follow the example of Jesus. Nature was their
classroom. In this manner, the parents point the children to the marvelous creations, lead them to know
God deeper, give their hearts to Him, yearn to be natural, and be assured that God will provide for them
like the flowers in the field.
