Subject : Guidance for Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia Awardees in time of the COVID-
19 Pandemic

To Whom it May Concern:

Following the World Health Organization (WHO)'s declaration of Coronavirus (COVID-19) as a


pandemic on 11 March 2020, please find enclosed the guidance for Beasiswa Pendidikan
Indonesia awardees in time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The guidance refers to the
announcement of the President Director of Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP)
number PENG-1/LPDP/2020 dated 16 March 2020 which was published in Bahasa Indonesia.
I would appreciate if you could provide assistance to the awardees regarding their study in the
time of COVID-19. We will continue to closely monitor the situation on the developments of
COVID-19 pandemic around the world and update the guidance accordingly.

GUIDANCE FOR BEASISWA PENDIDIKAN INDONESIA AWARDEES
IN TIME OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC

As the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a
global pandemic and in order to support the study of awardees in a number of countries,
awardees are advised as follows:
1. Awardees who will begin the study and who are currently studying at the universities are
advised to read and follow the instructions provided by the universities with regard to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
2. Awardees who will begin the study at overseas universities in 2020 and currently remain in
Indonesia are advised to stay in Indonesia. Should prospective universities temporarily
provide a distance learning as a substitute for classroom learning, awardees are allowed to
attend the provided distance learning from Indonesia.
3. Awardees who will begin their study at overseas universities in 2020 may request for
deferment of scholarship in accordance with the regulation of LPDP and the policy of the
prospective universities regarding the deferment of admission.
4. As more universities are providing online and other alternative learning methods due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing awardees are advised to stay in the country/area in which
they are studying and utilize the provided alternative media of learning in order to complete
their study as planned.
5. Ongoing awardees who are studying at overseas universities, as advised by the
Directorate of the Protection of Citizens and Legal Entities Overseas, the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, are advised to:
a. complete an online report through https://peduliwni.kemlu.go.id/,
b. remain calm and stay informed about developments regarding the COVID-19 from the
local government and WHO's website,
c. take care of their health and maintain their immune system by applying Perilaku Hidup
Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS),
d. avoid social activities that involve a large number of people and crowds,
e. get medical attention immediately if feeling unwell and comply with the instructions of
local health authorities, and
f. contact the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate should they need assistance.
This guidance refers to the announcement of the President Director of Indonesia
Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) Number PENG-1/LPDP/2020 dated 16 March 2020 which
was published in Bahasa Indonesia.
