Outline English Teaching Methodology
Course Description : This course will introduce students to the world of English language
Teaching and Learning. It is designed for students majoring in Education
to meet the requirement of an English teacher that aims at providing
sufficient information on how to teach, to design, and to assess. Various
ways of teaching english language skills are also introduced. This course
also introduce an overview of the theoritical issues in English language
learning and teaching. It also investigates the development of different
approaches and methods in language teaching. Some current issues in
English language learning andteaching either nationallly or internationally
are brought into discussion in this class to prepare the students to the real
world of English language teaching.

1. Introduction to Teaching Methodology 2 x 100 minutes
The nature of approaches and methods in language teaching
2. Curriculum, Syllabus design and lesson planning 2 x 100 minutes
Methods used in K-13
3. Classroom management and interaction 2 x 100 minutes
4. Teaching listening, reading, speaking, and writing 2 x 100 minutes
5. Teaching vocabulary and pronunciation 2 x 100 minutes

1. Quiz 10 % : perfect attendance, classroom participation
2. Midterm Test 25 % : midterm test on certain materials
:3. Assignment 25 % : a portfolio of work on simple tasks and assignments given
during the duration of the course
4. Final Test 40 % : Comprehensive Examination of the Course/
classroom/school observation, report and practice
