1. Corporate Social Responsibility in India has evolved over the past century. The four
phases have seen multiple contextual determinants leading to progressive growth and change
in how CSR has progressed into the current form. Attempt to create an illustrative model
keeping in mind the phases highlighting the impact of the determinants.

2. It is estimated that there are 18 million elderly homeless people in India. A similar
number of children are on the streets with a quarter of them homeless. The government and the
private sector are working towards addressing the two issues. Highlight at least 5 signific a nt
contributions from both the government and private sector in tacking these issues.

3. The legal definition of CSR has evolved over a period of time to cover multip le
prominent areas. What are the highlights of this progress? Somewhere in the journey,
organisations felt CSR was no longer an act of magnanimity and were worried about the
criminal consequences. What went wrong and how was this corrected?

4. Green growth is often interchangeably used with sustainable development. The green
economy is however different. How can a country use the guidelines from the UN Environme nt
body to transition towards a green economy? What is the relationship between green growth
and sustainable development? Cite examples to explain the linkages.

5. Embedded sustainability efforts clearly result in a positive impact on business


performance. Organisations with sustainable businesses have seen higher competitive
advantage through stakeholder engagement, improved risk management and fostering
innovation. With the help of 2 practical examples for each of the three positive outcomes, drive
home the point of a business case for sustainability.
