General Weld Notes

-All wleds are per this chart unless noted on face of drawing

-Full anneal welment(s) per STM-131030 prior to rough machining contour (Invar Only)

-Stress relieve weldment(s) per STM-131030 prior to rough machining (Aluminium)

-Stress relieve after rough machining is recommended but not required for invar BPPF and 2BAJ tools
unless rough and finish machining removes more than 50% of stock facesheet material thickness.

-Stress relieve rough machinin is required for all other invar and Aluminium tool tipes.

-Weld per STM-131030-2 STM-131030.-3 and/or STM-131030-4 class B

-Optional to stagger intermitent welds

-When intermitent welds are used on forktubes , each end of tube must be welded 100% (inside and
out) for the last 6 inches.

SPECIFIC WELD NOTES

A) Weld vacuum tigth at all face sheet splice joints and tool ball backing plates per STM-131030-2 and
test per STM-130010-13.

B) Face sheet attachment weld typ. at all header and intercostal castle locations. Note :100% weld (wrap
around) required for all castle on the outside perimeter of the face sheet. All internal castles must have
weld along the long joints at each position. Weld around support blocks where applicable.

C) Eggcrate fabrication: weld typ, at all header and intercostal slot attachment locations. Note: 100%
weld (wrap around) required on the outside row of slot attachments. All internal headers and intercostal
slot atachment must have weld along the long joints at each position. Weld around support blocks
where applicable.

D) Weld typical at forklift plate intersections and headers side panel overlas

E) Weld tipical at forklift plates header intersections.

F) Weld tipical at receiver plate location.
