Autobiography
My name is Lyca Mae Castillo Abacsa, proud citizen of Pila, San Pascual,
Batangas. My age is 17. May 19, 2001 was the day where I first seen the world. I am
the daughter of Victoria C. Abacsa and Luis R. Abacsa. I am currently studying at
San Pascual Senior High School 2. There are a lot of things that I like and don’t like.
I like to have fun with my family and friends. I like music and Korean dramas but
what I really love is jokes. Sometimes I do jokes and sometimes I tell jokes. My
hobbies are reading wattpad stories, traveling and shopping. I love traveling very
much, because when I go to other places. I’ll get new friends and also get the
unforgettable story for myself. I am a person with dreams. Always trying to reach big
achievement. But my laziness always try to destroy my spirit. I hope anything that I
want will be achieved. I always try to give my best especially for myself and for other
people.

There are always the people in our lives, which can be the heroes in
many ways. Each person in my life inspired me so as they are very important as to
why I am the person I am today. They all have different kind of characteristics that
they have given me. My first thoughts of my family are always why they mean so
much to me. I couldn’t imagine my life without anyone of my family members. My
mom is one of the biggest inspirations in my entire life. She taught me to always be
strong physically and mentally, so that I tell myself everyday that if I was strong as
my mom, I could do anything I set my mind to. Second, my father brings out the
‘worker bee’ in me. I feel like I am a great person because of him. He taught me to
work hard for what I have and be proud and blessed on the things and people that I
have in my life. If I’m not happy where I am, his famous words for me are “Do
something to fix it and just keep working towards what you want. And third are my
best friends. My best friends showed me what it’s like to have and be a true friend
especially my childhood friend Aimee who is always there for me. I can count on
them for anything, and in return I would do the same for them because” there is
nothing on this earth more to be prized the true friendship.

My personal goal is to obtain the achievement that I experienced today. I must

also dedicate myself. To achieve this goal, there must be commitment, desire,
disciplined and expectations. There will be many challenges that lie ahead of me as I
steadily make my journey on achieving a dream of what I want to be. But I feel I can
surely overcome any obstacles and face any challenge, due to my maturity level and
positive outlook. I am now currently looking forward for my success to be a
professional teacher. I also want to go and travel the whole world, because I’d like to
know as much as I can of every culture, and at the end buy a house in the country I
like the most, meet my ideal men and marry him, and wait for every single moments
with all the beautiful memories of all people I met, all the experiences I want and all
my adventures.

Biography
After a series of failures in his life, he is now one of the richest tycoons in the
Philippines. We all know him by his name, however, not all people know what
happened before all these achievements come into his life. Believe it or not, Henry
Sy’s story was a ‘rags to riches’ kind of tale. He was born in Xiamen, China in
November 1924. He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Due to his
dedication, determination and wanting to escape from poverty, he decided to follow
his father to the Philippines only to experience a miserable youth in a foreign
country. Henry faced hard living in the Philippines and had to learn the local
language. Determined to become successful, he worked hard day and night just to
provide and meet his needs. Henry thinks of a business and decided to start a small
sari-sari store business that helped them in their daily life. Sy and his father lived in a
small space until the fruits of their labor made them successful in the following years.
But life is really full of surprises. During World War II, their store was burned down
that forced his father to go back to China. But Henry decided to stay in the
Philippines and build his own shoe business in Marikina. Sy worked hard and give all
his very best but still he has not yet achieved an overnight success, he faced
different challenges and struggles in life. But still he has the patience and the fighting
spirit. He did not give up and pushed through maybe because he knew that
something big, which is what he has now is about to come. After a roller coaster ride
experience in life, Henry Sy stood back and preserved to attain his goals and dream.
He establishes a small shoe store in Quiapo, Manila that marked the establishment
of SM Prime Holdings. Now with three of the most valuable companies in the
Philippine who earn at over Php 1 trillion each, he has become the richest man in the
country.

With his inspiring study, one can learn about the ideals of success. Henry Sy
tells us that no matter how hard the life is- we must not give up on our dreams, we
must pursue it until the end.

Blog
Ever Bilena unveiled their new products to the press and media and also to
bloggers. As such, I am very excited in showing some sneak peeks of their newest
product offerings.

The Matte Liquid lipstick of EB is not just a simple lipstick. And by Matte, this
really does not budge. The moment you put it on, you will not be able to wipe it off
easily unless you use baby oil. I find it uncomfortable when a liquid lipstick feels so
heavy and cement like that it feels a bit hot on me already. As far as what presented
to the media, there are 11 shades of this Matte lipstick. Whether you’re into more
subtle shades or more bold shades, you’re bound to find something that is suitable
for you. Some of the shades are “Fierce Red”, I think this’ll be perfect for morena
skin tones. “Sexy Nude”, the usual pinkish nude. Just the right nude for the most
Pinoy Skin tones and “Pink Flame”, a milky, cherry pink reminiscent of the colors of a
flamingo, or the “Pink Panther”. I have no idea about its pricing yet, but Ever Bilena
has always offers an affordable price. I am sure that it will surely be within reach for
most beauty women’s out there.

Personal Narrative
If you have ever climbed a mountain, you know how exciting it is to realize
you are about to get on one of the world’s roofs especially for the first time when you
do not yet know what to expect or how it is going to be like.

I can remember my first ascension to a mountain top well. It happened about

2 years ago, when it was summer and the weather in the mountain was bright and
sunny. Me and my family together with our relatives decided to travel and climbed in
a mountain since it is holy week. The first mountain that I climbed is the Mt. Maculot
that can be found in Cuenca, Batangas. The Mt. Maculot is a day hike (2 to 3 hours
depending on how fast you climbed). There are two trails and we took the way to
grotto first. Before you can reach that, you will pass by 14 station of the cross which
is popular with locals and tourists during holy week. After that, we climbed to the
summit which was about 1 hour to hike. It was really bright when we arrived so we
can really see the view clearly. After the summit, we went to campsite to reach the
very famous Rockies. There were stories about that part of the mountain that will
make you chill or felt bad and sad. By the way, if you ever forget to bring refreshment
or food, don’t worry as at almost every stop there is a vendor of coconut juice and at
the campsite you can ask to have them cook pancit canton. They’ve been carrying
that from the ground to the top of the mountain, so please don’t ever say that it’s too
expensive.

All in all, my experience was amazing and very good; I get to meet new
people and became friends with and had that feeling again of being accomplished.
Doing something that you were afraid of doing again for so many reasons. I suggest
for first timer to join a hiker or mountaineering group so you can be guided on what
to do and what to bring. It was a very nice experience and I am hoping that I can
repeat those memories and moments sooner.

Reflection essay
Song Title: In the end by Linkin Park

It starts with one thing

I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but you didn't even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go
I kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me
Will eventually be a memory of a time when
Chorus: I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
One thing, I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme
To remind myself of a time when
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised it got so
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me in the end

7
You kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when
(REPEAT CHORUS)
I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There's only one thing you should know
I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There's only one thing you should know

In my life I don’t want to spend all my time trying to “get ahead”. I mean I don’t
want all of my life to be spent on doing the works I hate. I have this kind of attitude
wherein I want to do things that will make me happy and excited. First line that catch
my heart and attention is “Time is a valuable thing, Watch it fly by as the pendulum
swings, Watch it count down to the end of the day ,The clock ticks life away”. This is
just talking about how fast life will pass one by one by and there is no going back.
The song tries to say that life will go faster than one might think and most people
would want to make the most of the time that they have on this earth. I personally am
not looking forward to aging I am just enjoying every single moment and create
memories. This is why this line of the song means something to me and really stood
out the first time I read the lyrics.
After that, comes the line “Didn’t look out below. Watch the time go right out
the window. Trying to hold on, but you didn't even know.
Wasted it all just to watch you go”. It sounds to me like he’s looking back on his life
and regretting things like he hasn’t done in life or just sitting around wasting his life. I
believe that many people can remember a time in their life when they may just sit
around the house and done nothing. Looking back on this time one might feel that
this is wasted time. I am one that feels this way and that is why this line has special
meaning to me because sometimes I didn’t value my time so that I can’t do more
important things.
Now the last line is “I tried so hard and got so far but in the end it doesn’t even
matter”. Because of this line I realize that it is good to win and successful, but I
believe that if you are not happy it is not worth it. To me happiness is more important
than anything else in life and I think it is more important to done things that you loved
and had fun in life instead of trying so hard to succeed but is not totally happy. This
is why I can really relate to this song.

Travelogue

True Narrative
What do you think about your neighbors? How do you feel about your schools?
What do you think about your community? Community has always been a big part of
our lives and it has been here since the day we were born. We might even live on the
same street, but we grow up in different households and this results in many different
views on communities.

12
To me my community is those people that surround me and to whom I can run
to in times of needs. Words are as not enough to express what my community
means to me.

As we know, life is full of up and downs and I thank you my community

because it has always been there for me in times of sorrows and in times of
happiness. It has taught me to appreciate life with the more or little that it has to
offer. In time of happiness we have celebrated together and patted each other back
with no jealousy and in times of sorrow we have always been there for each other to
comfort one another. We value and care for one another in my little community.
There is no a single day that I have seen my community abound one another.

From time to time there are disagreements in between us but never ever do
we fight. We have always come into terms in the best way possible. When a solution
cannot be found we have always followed the allowed procedures by the law and a
justice is met in a fair manner. My community supports and teaches me to embrace
peace, love and unity. My community has inbuilt strong personalities in me. It has
given me a heart to love, to care and to be kind. From my community I have learnt
that one cannot live by himself in this earth, we need each other for one to survive.
My community means the world to me.
