Listen and watch the official music video of the song “Tatsulok” by Bamboo
in YouTube and answer the following questions (polyeastrecords, 2012):

1. What do you think and feel about the song?

2. What is the message of the song?
3. Research on the actual message of the song,
4. Is the message of the song still relevant today, why?
5. What words or phrases in the song that you can personally relate to, why?

1. I feel like I could carry the world around me because of rage and sense of
patronage with our people.

2. The message is about the social classes in our society and how that
affects every living person in the community.

3. The song wants to illicit anger and revulsion, hoping to incite a revolution,
and it’s one of those songs that truly show the plight of the poor. At the end
of it all, the song doesn’t attempt to take sides; in fact, it encourages you to
do the opposite: instead of bothering with distinctions in allegiances, get to
the root of the problem—the numerous power-hungry individuals trying to
seize and stay in power, no matter what.

4. Yes, it is still relevant up to this day. There are political dynasties every
day, elites abusing their power, and the poor becoming poorer each day.

5. “Hindi pula't dilaw tunay na magkalaban, ang kulay at tatak ay di syang

dahilan, hangga't marami ang lugmok sa kahirapan, at ang hustisya ay para
lang sa mayaman” We’re under a system where we are forced to fight with
each other every day while those on the upper classes are looking down on
us, laughing. I experience oppression and injustice every day and that is
enough reason to connect myself in the song.
