Transportation System and Alignment for Master Plan
Build a railway network such as Light Rail Transit (LRT) connected to existing railway, MRT and BRT
LRT Plan; Phase 1 : 5.8km (under construction), Phase 2 : 8.95km (F/S), Phase 3 : 67km (Master Plan)
Total length of MRT 2 Lines : 110.8km, LRT 2030 Plan Route : 96km and BRT 15 Lines : 256.1km

Alignment for Master Plan + BRT Route
Jakarta BRT Route consists of approximately 256.1km-long with 15 lines and 13 Lines operating (L=221.4km)
Two additional lines are planned in the future (Line No. 14, 15, L= 34.7km)
4
Alignment for Master Plan + LRT 2030 Plan Route
Jakarta LRT 2030 Development Plan aims to be planned for the integrated operation by completing 3 major
axes as a public route including LRT, MRT and BRT until 2030
The length of LRT 2030 Plan Route is approximately 96km (7 Lines)
5
Alignment for Master Plan + MRT Route
Phase 1
Total length of MRT is 110.8km with North-South Line (L=23.8km, 21 Stations) and East-West Line (L=87km, 48
Stations)
The Jakarta MRT as North-South / East-West Line is planned for Cross-over at the central location
(SARINAH Station)
Phase 1 section with 15.7 km of North-South Line is under construction, 13 stations (6 underground,
7 elevated) will be opened in 2019 6

Alignment of Master Plan
Connecting LRT 3-1 as a circular line of passing through Kota Station and Dukuh Atas to both MRT and BRT
route in loop shape and planning for facilitating interconnection between regions.
3-2 Section connecting to SHIA International Airport and KOTA, easy to transfer other transportation system.
3-3, 3-4 Section over the densely populated area considered a shuttle service with a circular line
(Considering Single Track)
11
3-1 (Circular Line) – Analysis of current Rail Network
Currently Jakarta’s Rail Transportation is focused on Inter city Rail (KRL Line, Jabodebek LRT)
Inter City Rail’s role is connecting suburban area to Jakarta City
Inconvenience of Jakarta Residents because of no inner city transportation
MRT(North-South), LRT 1st Phase are only City Rail
→ If there are no circle line for dispersing commute demands through City center,
Public Transportation ratio will not be improved, which cause continuous Traffic Congestion!
3-1(Circular Line)
The Kota Station, TOD area, is the concentrated with LRT traffic demand increase by linking TOD with
high traffic demand and large floating population Jakarta's downtown circular railway line (3-1) using LRT
The Dukuh Atas, TOD(CBD) area, is the concentrated 1 and 2 section
with high traffic demand Demand of LRT phase 1 and 2 in 2014 F/S is maximum
Jakarta Timur City is the most densely populated area 72 thousand people based on daily-traffic volume,
with industrial plant and sports facility demand is expected to increase when planning it to a
Jakarta Barat City is a densely populated area during circular line

Advantage of Circle Line – Korea Case
Circle Line connects high traffic and large floating Similar Population
population zone (Yeoido, Gwanghwamun, - Seoul : 9.6Milion, 25 Milion(Metropolitan)
- Jakarta : 10 Milion, 30 Milion(Metropolitan)
Gangnam) in Seoul
Similar Passenger Pattern (Intercity + Inner City)
Circle Line disperse passenger from Radial Line
Multi Core City Center
(North-east, North-west, South-east part)
- Korea : Jongro, Gangnam, Yeoido
Branch Line perform as a shuttle train from Bed town
- Indonesia : Sudirman, Mega Kunningan
Circle line function as a Transfer Hub for the other
line(Every Metro line is connected to circle line

3-2(SHIA Airport Rail Link)
Pre-study Demand(JAYA,2015)
3,279 person/km
Population (Passengers/day)
160,822 person/day
Advantage
- Provide Symbolic & Punctual
Public transportation
- Support Northern Waterfront
Development
Passenger amount at 8th in the world (62millions, 2014) Abbreviation of Traveling time of Airport Passengers
Annual Passenger growth rate of 10% Mitigation of Traffic Congestion on the highway into

Original Plan
Alternative Plan
Originally Jakarta LRT 2nd Phase is planned to flyover existing Railway with H=27m (including Clearance = 6.0m)
If MOT and DKI want to construct Elevated Loop Line, Jakarta LRT can flyover with H=39m (including Clearance = 6.0m)
Using Long span Bridge (ST.Box Type), LRT can flyover existing underpass and railway
Technically, No Obstacles for implementing LRT Line
17
Alternative line avoiding Overlap with Loop line
Items Initial Alternative
1.32Km
Length 0.96Km
(+0.36Km)
Review
·Alternative route increases line length360m
Establishment of optimum transfer movement and review of interference between facilities through analysis of TOD
Multi-Modal Connectivity near Dukuh Atas and draw BRT Passenger near S8
By locating S8 station near high-demand area, Passenger convenience and accessibility can be maximized

Project Performance Procedure on Route Plan
2. Technical review 3. Demand Analysis
1. Analysis of Local Relevant Data - Analysis of Alignment and Location - Identification of Traffic
- Obtaining Related Materials - Review of Interconnection with
Situation in Alignment Plan
- Analysis of Transportation System Other Transportation System
- Review of Overlapping with Other and proposing Improvement
- Investigating Upper Plan Transportation System Direction for Traffic Demand Raise
More advantage of application to LRT railway transport system than MRT based on the result of analyzing the
status of road traffic in Jakarta.
Increasing traffic demand of LRT by interconnecting the Jakarta Main Circular Railway (3-1) of utilizing LRT Phase 1
and 2 with TOD (refer to: Seoul subway in Korea and Kyoto subway in Japan).
Connection among SHIA ~ KOTA STATION (3-2) ~ DUKUH ATAS AREA ~ HALIM AIRPORT can be possible through the
transfer interconnection between LRT and MRT route.
When establishing a master plan for the LRT Phase 3, it is inevitable to remove BRT route for the overlapped
section.

(Single Track)
The length of Seoul Metro Line No.2 as a circulation route is 48.8km with 2 branch lines (Seong-Bu Branch
Line: 5.4km, Shin-Jeong Branch Line: 6.0km Single Track)
Daily average passengers of using Line No.2 are 220 million people (Compared with other routes,
Seoul Metro, 2016]
Tokyo Subway
The total length of Oedo Line No. 12 as a circulation line in Tokyo Metro is 40.7km, daily average
passengers of Line No.12 are 900 thousand people.
The introduced instance in Japan is as follow; Yamanote Line, Meijo Line and Osaka Circulation Line etc.
