o Tank sloshing due to impact loads

Tankers carrying liquids need to withstand impact loads during

transportation.
The liquid is responsible for a significant portion of the container loading
Can lead to tank rupture and potential spillage problems
Modeling challenges:
Highly dynamic event in both the fluid and the container
Damage and failure of the interface material

o Full vehicle analysis: Front impact crash test

Frontal crash tests are a good measure of a vehicle's structural

design and integrity. These tests also provide very high
deceleration forces to the test dummies and are well suited to
the evaluation of occupant restraint systems such as seat belts
and air bags.
