We will start from where we get the supply and here supply is available at 129/1
terminal no. B2, so our starting point will be 129/1-B2. In the cable index we find
129/1-B2 is going to XK12A-19, XK12A-19 to XF13A:02 6,XF13A:02 6 to
XK13A:01 23, XK13A:01-23 to XK22A:01-23, XK22A:01-23 to XK=F22S:01-15
and XF22S:01-15 to 123/3-7.
Like this we have to follow the route and the take the continuity.
Never use test lamp for checking the feed. It may damage the I/O card relay.

How to copy DDS to USB
1. Open the window of DDS text by pressing AWD and
Diagn. Data
2. Press F4 go to ASC II file and press Enter
3. Note the number as appearing at screen .
4. Example :DOC00004 PRM and press Enter
5. It will ask for title, put any title as for example Loco
shed, press Enter
6. It will ask again for DOC ID put Loco number and press
Enter
7. The DDS will be saved at the main rout Diagnose
folder, WAP,DOK.
8. Open the DOK folder , you will find a title in note pad
format, as for example doc 00004.prn
9. Copy it to your USB for further analysis.
Mic View /Signals
Mic- View is used for interactive visualizing and manipulating of processes data
signals in a MICAS-S2 system interactively. It runs on compatible PC supplied with
MPB (Micas Personal Board). The PC is connected via the MPB to the service
connecter of the MVB (Multifunctional Vehicle Bus) system.
Mic-View is a system in MICAS-S2 where we can read any signal from the different
processors on the MVB providing the signal has a name. So it is very useful in the
loco during commissioning and trouble shooting. We can get the status of signals at
the particular stage.
Signals.
1. Physical signals n(Wire signal)
2. 2. Electronics signals.
Physical signals we can access directly from multi meter and get the values
Electronics signals we cannot access from multi meter, we have to go for Mic-View
tools.
An electronic signals can be a software command or a message or just a analog
value.
Signal can be found in almost all schematics of the control circuits. At the beginning of
the signal name usually a letter M,B, L,W or X.
.
M: Signals which starts with this letter are Message, For example, a contactor has
been closed.
B: Signals which starts with this letter are orders, They will command order a
contactor to close. (Binary value)
L: Signals which starts with this letter are noted as action of the loco driver.
W: This letter stands for Demand values which are acknowledged by the
electronics.
X: This letter stands for Actual values which are acknowledged by the electronics.
In addition to the signal name, it is important to know from which processor card
the signal is coming or to which processor card the signal is going, So a signal will
be described as following.
(1) If driver pushes spring loaded switch 2 then relay 1 will be energized.
Additionally a message is given to Software through the electronics XX. The signal
name starts with L because the driver‟s action. To push switch 2 is recoded. In Mic-
View we can see the signal is changing from 0 to 1 when this switch is pushed, and
changing from 1 to 0 when the switch is released. This means, if on pin 1, 110vDC
is applied the signal is 1, if no voltage is there, the signal will be 0.
(2) As discussed previously, by pressing spring loaded switch 2, relay 1 will be
energized and therefore close the relay contact 1. the light will glow, additionally
110v DC is applied on pin 3 of our electronics YY. This will be the message to our
electronics that relay 1 is really working, In the Mic-View the signal M Light ON will
change from 0 to 1 if the relay contact is closed and from 1 to 0 if the relay contact
is open.
(3) Closing the relay contact, the light will glow, a current will flow. This current is
pricked up by the transducers CT-1 and measured by electronics card ZZ. The
analogue signal is converted into a binary signal. In Mic-View we can see this value
through singal XACurr Lamp.
Usually messages are used to confirm the closing of a relay. This is needed for
diagnostic system. If relay 1 is energized and the message M light ON is not
coming, the relay is not able to close “FAULT”, if relay is de-energized and the
message Mlight ON is still at 1 then the relay not able open “FAULT”.
How to Use Mic View
