A project proposal is a document that is used to convince a sponsor that a project needs to be

kicked-off to solve a particular business problem or opportunity. It describes in depth, how the
project is going to be commenced so that the sponsor understands what is involved early.

 the major difference is that while an academic research proposal addresses a specific stream of
scientific study, a project proposal aims at getting a comparatively smaller scientific venture or
scheme approved

A project proposal is also the marketing document that kicks off a relationship between an
organization and outside project stakeholders. Creating a proposal allows an organization to
establish a formal, logical presentation to an outside worker or project donor.
