Lebanon has become significantly more fragile in the past months. On the brink of
economic collapse, people took to the streets and rose against corruption and
injustice. With the rapid deterioration in the economic situation and indicators of an
imminent collapse, the number of Lebanese who have lost their jobs or endured
salary cuts has increased, causing their families to fall under the poverty line.

Natural disasters have also taken their toll with the recent flooding of the coastal
areas and previously massive wildfires. As such, many families and children have
become significantly more vulnerable.

Inflation has spiked with the drop in the value of the Lebanese Pound, leading to a
a price hike of imported necessities, such medicines. In parallel, the government has
defaulted on many of its obligations towards organisations, which have been
playing a vital role in supporting individuals in need.

As a result, Lebanon is currently facing its largest humanitarian crisis since the 2006
war. In the absence of a functioning government and the disregard of the
international community, the civil society needs financial assistance to support
those who have been most affected by the current crisis.
