Assessment Sheet Guidance

Assessment sheets must be completed during the last two weeks of each class booking, and sent to School
Swimming at College Street via scanning on pool site to school.swimming@collegest.org.uk. The SOLAR Team
will collate all of this information, to ensure children are learning to swim and making progress, on behalf of
schools. All children according to the National Curriculum should be able to swim 25m by the end of Year 6 (11
years old) swim a range of strokes over 10 metres and perform a safe self-rescue.
Dates for assessment weeks are as follows:
Autumn 1- Week 5
Autumn 2- Week 6
Spring 1- Week 5
Spring 2- Week 5
Summer 1- Week 5
Summer 2- Week 5/6 – Year 6 assessments are requires ASAP due to leaving primary school.
*Please double check the above against your timetable as some schools may vary slightly
Make sure all details are completed before sending back to the SOLAR Team. Without full names, school
names and year group information, we are unable to send out awards, which can cause unhappy telephone
calls/emails from schools. It is vital that the information recorded is LEGIBLE.
When College Street receives your assessment forms, they will be processed as soon as possible and badges
and awards will be sent directly to the school. The school will no longer have to apply for awards via the
website. All badges and certificates are FREE.
