Work with co-investigators to shine light on student voices on gender bias in the middle school
classroom. Observe eighth grade classes. Keep detailed notes. Conduct surveys. Write a paper and
present on the findings. Debrief with participants.

students, and other Middle Level advocates from across the state of Pennsylvania with executive board
members of the Kutztown University chapter of Association of Middle Level Education.
·​ ​ Legislative Advocacy at Harrisburg PA State Capitol February 2018
Lobbied with Kutztown University and Lock Haven University Middle Level Education students. Talked
about House Bill 1386 with Senator John H. Eichelberger Jr. and his staff, specifically the Director of
Education of the Senate, Lee Derr. Advocated for the importance of maintaining middle level teaching
certificates (grades 4-8) as separate designations for middle level student success.
