I, Wilson Andres Garzon Vargas bearer of passport No AO701050 of Colombia am writing this letter to
express my interest in completing my course of an Advanced Diploma in Accounting at APC. My decision to
complete a diploma and advanced diploma in accounting is due to a job offer in Colombia at my uncle’s
company, GARZON DURAN PULIDO ARQUITECTURA SAS, which has motivated me to complete these
courses and take my position in this organisation upon my return to Colombia. Furthermore, I decided to do
these courses in Australia rather than in Colombia because of the higher relevancy to my career of choice
that the education provider in Australia offer, providing more educational information related to advanced
strategies, processes and regulations following international standards. I have been motivated to obtain this
knowledge and learning experience here in Australia so I will be able to apply my new advanced skill set in
my own country and the organisation I will work for.
As previously mentioned, my decision to extend my stay in Australia is due to the job offer I received whilst I
was last in Colombia. The organisation that I will work for is planning to expand its production in other
markets and I am sure that with my broad knowledge in accounting, such as provided financial information
based on international standards reports and level of English, I can successfully help the company to
achieve their business goals. The role which I have been offered in Colombia is a General Manager position
which demands a list of skills and knowledge related to understanding the importance of the organisational,
managerial, communication, marketing and financial concepts. With my skills gained in Australia I will be
able to work more efficiently. Additionally, the position offered demands notions of strategic plans,
implementation of business plans, understating of finances and the ability to communicate efficiently in
English. I truly believe that with my studies completed in Australia will be beneficial to my career path and
enable me to achieve my career goals which I have been preparing myself for all these years. With the
completion of my advanced diploma I will have a competitive advantage in the Colombian labour market, for
which I implement better salary aspiration, benefits within the organisations and professional realisation.
Finally, with my skills and knowledge gained from studying in Australia I will provide myself with a
competitive advantage and prepare myself for a more competitive environment, ultimately enabling me to
face future challenges that my organisation will experience.
