Some people believe that children shoud not be given homework everyday, while others

believe that they must get homework everyday in order to be successful at school. Discuss
both sides and give your opinion.

Being a student have you ever get tired of school? I have. Homework part, especially. However
the question about given homework to children everyday and its discussion, whether children
should or should not be given homework, needs to be looked at both sides of the problem.

Undeniably, the potential effect of doing homework is to help students remember what they have
learnt longer as well as be ready for the next lesson. Besides teaching at school, giving extra
exercises for students to do at home is the teacher’s task, in order to ensure students fully
understand and absorb the knowledge that they acquired in class. Many scientists have proved
that children who do homework will pick up the lesson quicker and have better academic
achievement in school than who do not complete their home assignment.

Moreover, the act of completing homework everyday independently of a child can build up his
autonomy and flexibility. The traditional homework encourages children learn to be responsible
for their own tasks within the timeframe given, the ability which is essential for their future study
in university and their career later.

On the contrary, doing more excersises after school for many children is a burden as their
precious time being taken away. Instead spending time with family, hanging out with friends,
playing sports or joining a club, children have been usually seen to be struggled with demanding
workload and unfortunately, this can cause fatigue and lose motivation in learning.

Personally, I assume that doing homework is a good habit that children need to take action on it.
Homework’s benefits obviously have strong affect on children development provided that
teachers give a reasonable amount of homework, so that students not only keep on track with the
lesson but also will not feel overloaded everyday they go to school.

In conclusion, giving homework for children has its strengths and limitations. An image of a
child bury himself in works is not what we want but a child who shows self-discipline and
achieves success is what we look for. Anyways, how many people can be genius without
revising their works more than once? (354 words)
